Question about Ascalon Academy involving skills

I recently entered the Ascalon Academy with a guild as a level 5 e/me and was wondering about skills. See I left ascalon (the newer one) to go to the old ascalon and I didn't get all my skills I wanted..does it really matter ? I mean, can I still get them in old ascalon?

Just let me know if I can or not please and what the difference is between them besides the fact one is ruined and in the past.

I think you can buy the ones you missed at the skill trainer at old ascalon. It just costs you more money and skill points.
