salvaging. i dont get this expert? normal? swords?

i have a sword.
11-16dmg. with an ability highly savalable, what does this mean? i use expert on it, it will give me a better sword?


i cant tell when to use expert or when to use normal. and what exactly which one does.

Highly salvageable means that it will give you more of whatever component that item provides. In your case, that means that your sword will more than likely give you 5 iron ingots instead of just 1.

Expert Salvaging kits have a chance to salvage a rare crafting material from items. In the case of that sword, you might get a Steel ingot instead of an iron ingot. There is no way to guarantee it however. Not all items have rare components. Generally speaking, you should only be using an Expert kit on items designed to salvaged, such as Dwarven Armor, Grawl Gear, etc.

Use an expert kit on items to get a chance to salvage a rarer item from it. Many hammers and metalic objects can give iron or steel. Anything that is highly salvageable should be salvaged. If it is precious, sell it becuase it is worth more gold.

Any time you find armor that can be identified, you should do it to identify the rune thats in it, and unlock it for your PvP characters. You should use an expert kit on any of these items that can contain a rune. You should use an expert on any rares you plan to salvage, or on any items with an upgrade component you wish to obtain. For example say you found a sword of forittude with +30 health, try to salvage it with an Expert kit to obtain the Sword Hilt of Fortitude which grants +30 health.

what do i do with all these? jus use normal kit and salvage them all? sell them to others? use expert kit??

For the normal white items just use a normal salvage kit. Most of the items you listed will give you Tanned leather, raw cloth, or another common crafting item.
The colored items you should identify first, then salvage. You will have to use your judgement as to whether to use a normal or Expert salvage kit. As a general rule Purple and Yellow items will be good enough that there is a chance of salvaging a rune or other useful item out of them (fur, steel) if you use the Expert kit. Blue items you will have to decide based on the description after you ID them. I hope this helps a little. :happy34:

If it's useful to you (Ex. you're a El/Me and you find a Storm Artifact with a good bonus for your off hand) and better than what you've got then YES! Otherwise salvage or sell.

im not at the place where you can get one yet.

The first place you find them is Yak's bend for 400g. So the people selling them for 600 to 800 are getting a pretty good markup.
