Guild Wars "version of monthly fees" (don't panic)

okay, i'm just adding this because Guild Wars in its own way has its fee. I'm not complaining though, as i know they need some source of income for running the servers etc. But if you think about it, if they release a 50$ expansion pack every 6 months*, that is paying almost 8.50 a month, that is if you get the expansion pack.

*Not sure how often they will release an expanion pack, can anyone clarify?

Expansions will be released every 6-9 months i believe. However they aren't required so you can play for free. The skills etc they bring won't over-power the people who don't have the expansions as they'll be making sure it all stays as balanced as possible.

also...last time I checked, most expansion packs are typically 30 bucks instead of 50.......so if ya bought 2 per year that is roughly 5 bucks/month. Much better than Evercrack and Wow.

Also, lets not forget that the subscription games usually also have expansion packs. Everquest had like what.....2 dozen?

I rather save and buy expansion packs, rather than having problem every month getting 15$ off my budget. And to tell you the truth 15$ in my country is like a meal for a week.
