Weapon Advice needed please

Im a 15 War/Elem and Ive been using the same 12-16 sword for about 8 levels now.

Id like an upgrade, but Ive got no experience with any of the swords that seem popular at this level.

Would I be better off with a lower damage Dragon sword with a skill req I can attain (13-18ish, 11 skill) and conjure flame, or with another sword combo?

And...Ive been thinking of switching to axe. I find too many mobs that I cannot do bleed damage too.

What would be a good option there?

Always go for the highest damage weapon you can that's in your weapon req. else you'll do almost zero damage.

As for upgrade, you could do any really as long as they're useful to your playing style. Only undead stop you from using bleed. Just switch around skills for when you're fighting them.

Well as for things such as undead not being able to bleed it doesnt stop you much.I prefer sword all the way even in PvP.I've never been defeated in PvP or PvE unless I had a whole group trying to bring me down.Swords are faster and cause deep wounds with Gash.Undead are not immune to deep wounds so axe or sword works well here,but sword has the bleeding damage you need for other foes.Sword also hits faster than either the axe or the hammer.Hammer is all out damage,and although slow you use a few skills that cause knockdown then hit Belly Smash,it hits really hard + blinds all the foes around you (90% chance of them missing their attacks)...if you pull that off, and happen to be a War/Nec like myself,stack Price of Failure on them.Each time they miss they take 26+ damage.Also for undead,axes cant make them bleed but if you happen to be a war/ele or war/nec..stack DoTs on them magically such as Parasitic Bond or Lava Font.Burning or health degen works nicely.Hope this helps!

Sword also hits faster than either the axe or the hammer.
Axe and Sword have the same speed.

I stood next to alot of Axe warriors and alot have stood next to me...about 70% of them will also agree sword is indeed faster than the axe.I hit about 12 times in 10 sec.My friend with an axe hits only about 9 times each 10 seconds.

As far as I know, the speeds have not changed, but the speed tests were also done along time ago, so I can't be fully sure. However, the animations are such that it appears the sword swings faster than the axe. They should be the same speed, and until I see stats showing differently, that's what I'm going to believe.

Me and my friend during our experiment did not judge it on graphic speed(how fast we saw axe/sword swing) we did it on the hits or misses/blocks/evades.That is completely accurate.As it was I received 12 hits as opposed to my friends 9 in the 10 second period we recorded.We did this multiple times and it averaged out to this.Sometimes id get more than 12 sometimes he more than 9 or little less on both.But overall sword is faster,and thats what I'm going to believe since I did do tests,unless GW staff has something to say otherwise.

Hey Feywolf, i'm a W/Ne too. Just wondering where u get Price of Failure? i would like the skill. So far i'm at druid overlook and cant seem to find sword that's more than 21 dmg (mine is 15-21). If possible can you post up strategies you use for W/Ne? like what skill you use and stuff like that. Also i only have 20 energy which sux when trying to use necro spell cuz it drain alot. Please give me some tips. Thanks.
