Perdition Rock: Geckokaru Earthwind

Does this take a while to get to, or can you get this relatively early in Post-Searing?

Perdition rock is at the very end of the game =/. Its on the fire islands. I ran through the area but I dont remember running into a boss that used elemental attunement, I guess I'll try again.
