View Full Version : W/Mo suggested healing skills
Hi all,
I've been reading around today on the net for some Monk healing skills (I've been using Healing Signet all this time!). I picked up Healing Breeze and Osirin of Healing.
Now I have two questions : I have Healing Breeze, power 7. Does this mean it heals 7 hp per second, for a total of 70 hp per Healing Breeze cast?
And are there any better healing skills for W/Mo? Osirin only heals 50 HP, and I'm at 9 Healing Prayer.
Thanks,
Daikon Kwar.

Every point of HP Regen/Degen is 2 HP/second. So your 7 power will get you 14 hp every second, and 140 HP over the 10 seconds it lasts.
Also I would recommend sticking a spell such as this one, getting a heal over time like this is going to net you far more HP per point of energy than any other heal, though you will want to keep another heal up for times win this regen is not keeping pace with the damage you are taking.
Any suggestions on the secondary heal other than Osirin?
Thanks again,
Daikon.

Heal area is stronger than Orison, but I believe slower and definitely more expensive. My group's usual monk uses it instead of orison and never seems to run out, but it might be tricky for a warrior.
I reckon Orison itself is a pretty good bet. Alternately, you could use "Mending", which is an enchantment - but it costs energy regen to upkeep, and that in turn means that as a warrior you probably can't afford it over very long stretches, unless you're /really/ careful with your energy.
Personally, I think Orison of Healing is a pretty good bet.

I run mending for two reasons: 1) it's great with a weapon that gives bonus "while enchanted" and 2) it heals. I put my healing attribute at 3, that gives me the +2 break point on mending (the next is at 12).
I also use OoH. I think it is better than Healing Breeze because the mending gives you regen, and if you need helaing other than that, you probably need it in one chunk.
Healing Breeze is solid. Mending teamed with Vigorous Spirit is good. Vigorous Spirit, Live Vicarously, and Berserker Stance is insane.
Healing Hands is like Healing Seed Lite! Dont use Heal Area, it will heal all the enemies next to you as well - no good for a warrior.

The problem is finding healing hands. I've met some people in pvp that have the skills I want: Mark of Rodgort and Healing Hands

My Warrior/Monk keeps Mending up at all times. It is the first thing I cast whenever I enter a new zone.
I also use Balthazar's Spirit -- whenever I get hit I gain both Energy AND Adrenaline. I use Gladiator Armor for the extra energy and a Wyvern Helm. That grants me an extra 7 energy for a total of 27.
Now, you have to keep in mind that when you maintain an enchantment like Balthazar or Mending you lose -1 to your ability to regain energy. You only have two energy regeneration. I haven't tested it yet but I am fairly certain that if you cast three enchantments upon yourself you will begin degenerating your energy. Your enchantments vanish after you gain -1 energy.
I've found that its a good idea to do your best to make sure you have some type of "buffer" of energy some monsters and players can use a skill called "energy burn" and there may be others, that basically saps away some of your energy. If they keep doing that your enchantments will be lost. (They can also use a skill called "Shatter Enchantment".)
As others suggested throw out heal area. It's useless for a warrior especially in PvE where you are more often than not very close to monsters. Really, I don't see a real benefit to healing area unless there is no fighting going on and your group is gathered around. Healing your enemies is counter productive.
Anyway, I would suggest Balthazar's Spirit to any warrior/monk. It works wonders. It's a dream skill and one I doubt will be leaving me for a long while, if ever. I first found it in Lions Arch.

Actually, you get +3 regen for mending at like 7 or 8 for healing. This is a must have for any W/Mo

This also brings me to a question: where can you find healing breeze? I really need and want this spell but cant find it?

Healing breeze is nice for a PvE W/Mo, but especially in large PvP teams, a warrior shouldn't be healing. The team is relying upon you for damage. Healing hands is great for soloing, but just about everywhere else, there are better options. Any good, customized damage dealer should be able to punch through healing hands. Also, remember that it only protects from physical damage.

Mending will give 3 regen if you have 8 in Healing prayer.
And you find healing breeze in... Ascalon City. Come on now, guys.
