Hi all... I was wondering what eveyone is thinking about guild wars? I personally only heard about it on day of release and brought it straight away, simply because of the MMPORG for free and the 9/10 scores it was getting on some reviews.

I must say I am very impressed first of all with the graphics!!! I am running the game at medium display settings (because my poor computer staggers a bit on max) and I am still very impressed.

Games that have been designed over a huge landscape such as this tend to get monotinus (sp?) if you have to travel from one town to another.

Very impressed at how easy it is to join (and leave parties) in order to complete certain quests. Love the skills system.

Like the difficulty of getting gold and the crafting procedure... is new to deal with but now I have my head round it I am impressed (it takes that element of easyness away from the game)

Only dissapointment is lack of armopur variants... although I am inpressed with the Dye scheme. I have a nice pair of Blue 'Nike Air' Ringmail boots ;)

Overall excellent, great fun. Plenty of lastability. :happy65:

PS... And to top it off.... I admit I cheated slightly and looked at the world map on www.GWonline.net and was slightly dissapointed that it wasn't massive... then I realised I was only looking at Ascalon area!!!!!!!!! It's going to take for ever to explore all that!!!!!!!!!!

I played in all the Beta weekend events so I had a taste of what was to come...I also am impressed and the way the missions are structured you get to travel further and further into the landscape.....creatures get tougher as you progress and the henchmen are often more valuable than real players *sighs*.....

along with the general city landscapes are areas that can only be reached by exploration and can be found some decent skill trainers there..Grendich Courthouse for example...(NE of Nolani and SE of Yaks Bend)

I think I am going to be enjoying this game for a while yet :happy34:

im always amazed at how well the game is designed, except for two things: the 100 member limit in guilds and how you have to win in the HoH to get a hall and participate in GvG combat, from what i understand. those two design decisions seem rather out of place in a guild/pvp oriented game. other than that, though, AN seems to have learned really well from watching other games and their devs' own experience, and GW's design is very pleasing.

Althought I am risking this turning into a Fanboy rave, I would like to say how much I have enjoyed playing GuildWars in the last couple of weeks.

My wife is now playing this game and I have bought a new computer to, partially, better enjoy GW.

What more can I say, except please can I have more character slots, 4 is far too restrictive.
