Help! Why can't I capture Earthquake???

I'm building an Earth Elementalist, and the boss Thornwrath on the Bloodstone Fen mission has Stoning, Aftershock, Earth Attunement, and Earthquake, but I can't seem to capture Earthquake! Whenever I use my signet, I get a message saying I already have the boss's last used skill, but unless Earthquake is spelled e-r-u-p-t-i-o-n or something, I most definitely do not.

Has anyone else tried to capture this skill from Thornwrath or from anyone else? Have you succeeded? Does anyone know any other place I can pick up Earthquake, preferably one I can get to without having to progress too much through the game first?

You need to activate your SoC after the boss used the skill. Take a note on how long the casting time for Earthquake. Count it. Use SoC quickly afterward before the boss start to use another skill.

Lag will also screw you up. Try pushing the key as he's casting it.
