*waves*

I'm currently playing an elementalist, and I believe I want to go to around 12 in Water Magic, just for the idea of it if for nothing else. I see a lot of talk of Air (high direct damage, armor passing) and Fire (High AoE damage), a little about earth (buffs mostly?), but very little about water.

I'm not interested in spoilers, or following a direct template or build, but it might be nice to know what the down side to the water skills are. As well as what secondary class could work well with it. I'm not really that keen on checking out the skill / location lists, since this in a way seems a little cheesy, but are there any water skills pre-searing?

Any help is appreciated!

(Oops, forgot to mention I'm playing through with a friend who is a warrior. So hopefully tanking won't be an issue for us.)

from what i understand from reading about water magic spells, they focus on slowing down enemies' movement.

Water is mainly a Damage and a Hat Trick kinda spell line. Many spells interrupt, drain energy, slow, and generally bug people. The downside is lower damage and higher mana cost.

Also, Earth is possibly the most damaging all around skill (with the added effect that the AoE's and such are really hard to detect, making me choose it over Fire for AoE), and is also granted great Utility. The downside is either Mana Cost or Exaustion.

Thanks, that is generally what I was looking for. Variety has always been more appealing to me. The Earth line, too, is very tempting, so much so that my warrior friend is considering elementalist for a secondary class. I'll probably end up taking monk myself in order for a little buffing and healing for us.
