Are Dyes valuable? It doesn't look like they drop too much and to get a full set of one color must take forever. I would think a die hard may pay apretty price for a bunch

Well I'm still pretty new to it, but I've seen dyes in Pre-Sear going for 50g and certain dyes in Post for 125. I'm sure some go for more and for less. It's all about how badly someone is wanting it :D

Some dyes are really tough to round up unless you have the gold. Dye prices are run by a player economy.

Currently standard colours go for 150-175g. Silvers 600+. Black stands are 1000+. When I started playing, black was only 590g.

Is it possible to mix 2 standard colors to get a different color?

Yeah, you can mix and match colours. A yellow and silver can produce a gold colour dye for your armor if memory serves me correctly.

...and red and blue make purple (which is a waste), and i believe silver and red is some weird color or something?

As in any economy based game, there will be those that take advantage of the inexperience of new players to make a bit of cash. Here is what you need to know: If someone is offering to buy dye in pre-searing ascalon, they are probably taking advantage of you. All of the weapon and armour items that you will recieve will become outdated shortly after reaching the next stage of the game. Any dyes used prematurely will be wasted.

TIP: Save your dye! When you reach Ascalon city after the searing, talk to the dye trader near the gate. Her list is complete, and she buys or sells dye. (Scroll down to see entire list) Get a price qoute from her in order to determine what dye sells for. Drop 10-20 percent off the price she lists, and dont sell for less to a player. FYI: Prices do fluctuate at the traders from hour to hour based off the current economomy, but the ball park prices remain.
