View Full Version : I bought the game twice, can I transfer character from one to the other ?
My son started to play his character on my account.
I went to buy his own version of the game but would like, of course, to transfer his character on his own pc, using his own account.
Is it possible or will he have to start from scratch from his account... ?
It would be great, and probably not to hard, to "Transfer a character to another account".
Do someone have a clue so I can do this ?
Thanks
Why is it so hard for some people to just give a simple answer to a simple question without being an ***?
You cannot transfer a character from one account to another, it is bound to the account. He will have to start over. If he wants to use the same name he will have to delete the character and then wait for the name to become available for use agian because the name will be held a specific amount of time for the exclusive use of the original owner, in this case it would be you because it is on your account.

Powercat dont be a douche pls kthx.
Thanks the answer Pariah, I figured that would not be supported right off the bat. But I was just checking.
Still, it should not be too hard to swap at the Arena Net database level one userid to a particular account from another.
Starting a new char won't be too bad since once you've ascended once, going from the pre-searing to post shouldn't be too long.

Most of the reason for this is you unlock skills when you complete quests, buy skills, and such. If Anet were to make a habit of transferring characters to other accounts, they would need to transfer the information that includes the already-unlocked skills, upgrades, runes, etc. I can see this becoming a nightmare really fast. I hope that helps explain the reasoning better.
Although you cannot transfer any 'customized' items (armor, weapon); you can transfer all the other items and gold, so it shouldn't be a complete loss. Also, don't forget to use a salvage kit on your armor and weapons to recover as much as you can! :happy34:
