I guess this is a pure mesmer build, because I can't think of any secondary class that would aid me more than the mesmer attributes. Yet, suggestions are very very welcome.
I'm basicly going for energy burning and countering spells. A mage killer sort of idea. Here's some skills,

1. Backfire
2. Migraine
3. Ether Lord
4. Mind Rack
5. Energy Burn
6. Energy Tap
7. Power Block
8. Power Spike

At first, I was going to combine Mesmer/Elementalist, burn their mana to low, Mind Rack, Ether Lord then Mind Shock them to death. I changed my mind and decided to focus more on countering and denial.
I'd also like to fit in Mantra of Persistance to increase duration of Migraine perhaps.

Please critique!

it could work, theres a better way to sap energy though, cant disclose, its my personal build ^^;;

i do suggest to incluse ether feast, even if it only drains 5 energy, sometimes you need a bit of healing to prolong the time you survive in battle

I'll have to look into this so called better way, haha
As far as Ether Feast goes, I suppose I could put it in, but I built this around the idea that I'll be in a fight with my guild, which has a steady supply of monks.

you still need to protect yourself to release strain on your guild monks. The reason being, sometimes the opposing team can easily shut down monks. This is because its expected, usually a team will have at least one healer so a good team might think of it to bring anti healer skills

If you're going to be relying on counterspells very much, arcane conundrum can be very usefull with only a few points in illusion (as opposed to using fast casting, which takes many more points to seriously effect your counters). Don't forget about leech signet, either. Even monks get a decent heal that is a signet skill, and the standard anticaster tricks won't stop that.

As far as a secondary class, smiting monks get some good anticaster tricks, as do rangers. Ranger skills take a bit too much energy for my tastes, though. Personally, I took necro as a secondary on my mesmer for a nice mix of melee and caster shutdown.

I hope this gives you a few ideas. :surprise:
