I was wondering how the different kinds of 15k armor looked like for a ranger especially the studded leather and the frostbound armor types.
Also, I was wondering about the stats of a max dmg stormbow.
If ne1 could help I'd be greatly appreciated ^.^
Thx in advance

whats the "15K armor" >_>?

The stupidest way to spend 15 plat

Not really...especially when you have nothing better to spend on. My friend has 49 Plats, and frankly, he has no use for it.

AFAIK, not all the 15k armors look any different. I met a few people today who bought them and were very disappointed because they looked exactly the same (one may have been Aeromancer? I can't remember). I'm pretty sure the 15k Druid's armor looks exactly the same as the 1.5k Druid's armor (or so I've heard, anyway).
That's not to say ArenaNet's not working on it. It's just that, right now, as far as I know, not all the 15k armors are unique.

yeah i have the elite Aeromancer armor.. the only difference is that the 15k Aeromancer armor is much sharper in detail than the normal Aeromancer. i had to look closely to realise that.. but frm the normal point of view they look exactly the same.. i have asked GW so as to why they made it look the same but havent gotten the reply yet... the weird thing is that only Aeromancer armor for elementalist requires a rare crafting material expensive than Linens.. Available for rangers in Marhan's Grotto....
-15k Drakescale Armor-
http://www.myimagestore.info/upload/images/VDn38697.jpg
Drakescale Vest----
Armor 70
Energy +5
Armor +30 vs. Elemental Attacks
Armor +15 vs. Fire Attacks
(15 thousand gold, 150 tanned hides, 15 scales)
Drakescale Leggings----
Armor 70
Energy Recovery+1
Armor+30 vs. Elemental Attacks
Armor+15 vs. Fire Attacks
(15 thousand gold, 50 tanned hides, 8 scales)
Drakescale Gloves----
Armor 70
Armor+30 vs. Elemental Attacks
Armor+15 vs. Fire Attacks
(15 thousand gold, 25 tanned hides, 1 scale)
Drakescale Boots----
Armor 70
Armor+30 vs. Elemental Attacks
Armor+15 vs. Fire Attacks
(15 thousand gold, 25 tanned hides 4 scales)
The armorer there does not sell masks for 15k, nor do I believe there is one anywhere as yet that does (if they ever will). Simply purchase a 70 armor mask for 1,500 gold in Draknor's Forge...or do the collector quests in the desert for one.
An example...
Hunter's Mask----
Armor 70
Expertise+1
Armor+30 vs. Elemental Attacks
(1,500 gold, 25 tanned hides, 4 scales)
I play solo, and have absolutely nothing to spend my gold on...I don't buy weapons or runes or anything, I simply go out and kill mobs to get what I need or want. Absolutely not saying that's how everyone should play, or even desire to.....that's just how I play. As a consequence/benefit of soloing, I tend to add up a lot of gold quickly from just selling items to merchants, so this armor really wasn't a big deal for me to purchase. I think it looks nice, and that's what really counts anyway. I'm already back up to 30k gold again, and thinking about gathering a second different set of armor pieces to help with specific areas.
I would like to verify that it's entirely okay to use the +70 leather armor set you can get from collectors in the desert, or purchase later for 1,500 gold a piece at Draknor's Forge. Use that as long as you want. I used a full set of collector armor for quite a few missions before buying the more expensive armor....worked just fine.

For those that don't know,
Druid armor (need wood planks) adds energy
Drakescale (need scales) adds protection vs fire
Frostbound (need fur squares) adds protection vs cold
Studded Leather (need deldrimor steel ingots) adds protection vs lightning

Which of these armors has long coat? I mean like a trench-coat lenght. I just think it's cool especially if you can dye it black. :p

Druids Vest is the long coat like armor.
I'm not gona get some armor that costs 60K to get a complete set of without adding anything special over the "normal" armor.
Sounds like its purely aesthetics, but then again like Lalenthar said, if you are playing and have played for ages then it might be nice to have a nicer armour that looks a little different. I mean over and above the 70ar from droknars forge there isnt much to go for, nice to have something good to aim for.
ill definatly try and get down to the grotto now. :)
..damned mursaat :p

Is that the only one with the long coat? Or there's some other ones that comes with long coat?

From what I hear there are some 15k armors for every proffession that look exactly the same as the 1.5k, but Guild Wars has promised that the graphics on the 15k will be different when this will take place i dont know. But i do know if u purchase the armor now when the graphics are changed your armor's looks will be changed too. :)

Any pics of diff 15k Druid armor?

The bow in the previous pictures is Horn Bow. I happen to have a max dmg one for sale if anybody is interested. (Msg Riayne Crimsonglade). As far as I know, there are no published pictures of Frostbound Armor. The armors in the pictures listed so far are all 15k Drakescale. As has already been mentioned, Druid Armor still looks the same. There are no published pictures of 15k Studded Leather either.
Question: If you dye a stormbow, does it change the color? If so, what parts change?

Im sorry but how do I insert an image without using an imagehost link?
Ive got an image of the Female 60k Studded Leather Armour.
Copy the image link and then press the hyperlink button while creating your post. Its the little globe that is on the same line as the bold button ( B ).
Edit: Ok read that wrong. Its the Button to the Left of the globe ;)
Any pics of diff 15k Druid armor?
The Druid's set is identical for now, as posted on the official Guild Wars website, under Updates. Be patient... they'll change it soon enough.

Silver:

Havent tried black yet because its too costly and Im trying to get the Frostbound armour quickly (perhaps sometimes next week)
One question though...
Is there no 15k version of the normal Leather Armour? (the one without additional stats)
Thankyou for the pictures Killa. And can i just say how awesome that looks in Silver/Blue :)

Costed me nearly 4k for the mixture though
So was that a 1 silver onto 1 blue mixture then? Cause me-thinks i'll be making some of that ;)
Ya, that blue-silver is very nice.

I think Rangers are the coolest class in the game. Therefore out of my 4 characters my female ranger is the only one who has 15k armor. Here is my Ranger in 15k Studded Leather armor dyed Silver+Blue.
Here's the vest, leggings, and gloves.
http://img299.echo.cx/img299/3741/jade15karmor12po.jpg
Boots are more visible here.
http://img299.echo.cx/img299/8586/jade15karmor21iw.jpg
Had to do some emotion combo to get the back to show.
http://img137.echo.cx/img137/7228/jade15karmor33hc.jpg
Hope you like my Ranger.
Also I found that there is a crafter for super rare materials (Deldrimore Steel etc.) in the Crystal Desert. He is in Arid Sea right next to the southern zone point between Vulture Drifts and Arid Sea. It is an easy run from Augry Rock if you know how to avoid the Hydras.

I posted the following in another Ranger Armor thread. I thought I'll copy/paste it here too just for everyone's convinience.
Location: Granite Citadel
Total Materials Required:
350 Tanned Hide Squares
35 Deldrimor Steel Ingots
60,000g
To make 35 Deldrimor Steel Ingots you need:
350 wood planks to make 35 Charcoal pieces
350 iron ingots
175 Piles of Glittering Dust
Cost: 7000g to make Charcoal + 7000g to make Deldrimor Steel = 14,000g
I'm assuming that you have no materials at all, and you buy the tanned hides, iron, wood and glitter dust at 8g a piece from other players.
350 hides + 350 wood + 350 iron + 175 dust = 1225 materials
1225 * 8g = 9800g
TOTAL COST:
60,000g + 14,000g + 9,800g = 83,800g
Dye cost for my armor: 4 Silver Dyes at 500g a piece. 4 Blue Dyes at 250g a piece = 3,000g
Hope this calculation doesn't give anyone a heart attack. :surprise:
Where to get Deldrimor Steel:
The best place to get it is in the Crystal Desert. The Materials crafter is located in Arid Sea next to the southern zone point between Arid Sea and Vulture Drift (south west corner of Arid Sea). Best way to get there is to start out from Augry Rock, run/dodge past the Hydras and enter Arid Sea from the North. Then just keep going south west until you see the Materials guy.
I know it looks closer from Dunes of Despair, but that place is crowded with Forgotten Swords who use hamstring and a Griffon Boss who never stops chasing you. Oh, did I mention there are also 2 sand wrums in the way from Dunes of Despair.
Have fun getting this armor ;)
From what I hear there are some 15k armors for every proffession that look exactly the same as the 1.5k, but Guild Wars has promised that the graphics on the 15k will be different when this will take place i dont know. But i do know if u purchase the armor now when the graphics are changed your armor's looks will be changed too. :)
Where has this been verified and by whom? I've seen nothing that tells us 'existing' armors get upgraded the same as 'new' armors, especially after this last update, NEW Ranger Druid Leggings give +2 energy... our EXISTING Leggings got no such change and remain at +1!
While this may seem trivial to most (omg it's only 1 energy!), it doesn't matter how *much* change was implemented, only that NO change took place on armor already in existence when new armors changed, hence we're to expect that same NO change will take place on any 15k armor already in existence?
This could get ugly :P
Well, updating the art and updating the stats are separate issues. When the runes were changed to their new art, the old runes all retained a minor rune appearance, because the old runes all referenced the same art, regardless of their quality (Superior, Major, Minor), etc. Thus, they simply replaced any reference to the old rune art to the new minor Rune art, and changed all future runes in the Major and Superior line to reference the new updated art.
I'm told that the armors that have been updated so far have changed along with the new update, but I'm more of a "wait and see" type person. I have a 15k Druid's Vest sitting in my stash right now that will verify whether or not it worked.
