View Full Version : Best bow for Tiger's Fury/Barrage NOT Half Moon?
Welp, just got my barrage tonite. All hail the mighty barrage. :worship: So, I have lvl 9(I think) beast mastery for Tiger's Fury and a pretty neato yellow short bow with +15% dmg in a stance and a zealous string. Fantastic combo. Anyhoo, while it's all kinds a fun, I'm finding that I stutter/pause for a fraction of a second after each barrage shot. ie. the bow is firing faster, with TF, than barrage can recharge. This is wasted time. So, instead of wasting the time why not take advantage of another slower bow with an increased angular range and distance? I think that increased angular range and distance will really compliment barrage better - you quite simply will end up hitting more guys per shot on average.
Just thought I'd throw this at you gurus and see what ya thoughted. :)

i use Barrage with my flatbow, i ditched Tiger's fury because beast mastery is a dead skill. But...things i noticed while switching from a half moon...barrage hits more targets for some reason. but i am using a Flatbow, so i cannot tell you about the attack, but i have noticed its only SLIGHTLY faster then recharge, so if u wait untill you fire off an extra round then use barrage again...you should be fine.

Barrage owns.
Well all things considered, there is a 1/4 second pause between casts (even if the spell itself has 0 cooldown, theres always that 1/4 second) and I do believe it also applies to attack skills.
So that would be 1 second (for the initial cooldown) and then .25 seconds for the after-effect cooldown, making it a total of 1.25 seconds.
So find a bow (with tigers fury if you want) with a fire rate of 1.25 seconds or more, and you're good to go ^^

You should also consider flight times as that also calculates into how long it takes for an arrow to reach a target...
Since Barrage has a 1 second cooldown and the "after-effect cooldown" is .25 seconds... you have an effective 1.25 second cooldown.
If you want to do the fastest possible damage in the shortest amount of time look at the list below:
