Just wondering if W/N's would be good in parties or if their better off soloing. Also, what weapon(sword, axe, hammer) should i master in? And i need a good build for it. BTW im pretty new at this game...but not too new to be a nub.
Thanks in advance.

Every party can use a meatsheild/tank. But yes you can solo with it if youre clever.
Do a search for W/N builds there should be plenty on the forums here. Start with the Necro skills Life siphon, and Vampiric Gaze which are blood magic. Later you can get into Curses or Death depending on your play style/strategy.
In terms of weapons its totally up to u. Hammers do more dmg but cant use shields, Swords are fast and cause bleeding, Axes disable people.
I don't think any PvE party would refuse a well built Warrior/Necro tank that uses Well of Blood to good effect.
I wouldn't.

I play a W/N and I'm always wanted in my guilds groups. I dislike using Blood magic because most of the spells require 10-15+ energy for them.My skills at level 20 are:
7 Death Magic
7 Curses
9 Strength (+1 with Knight or Wyvern helm)
8 Tactics (+1 with minor rune)
9 Swordmanship
I also am very apt to solo.I can take on 2 level 21 Sand Drakes from the Crystal Desert and still be above half health by the time I finish the last one off.If played right a W/N is always a wanted tank. For heals I use necro spells I use:
Soul Feast (157health per corpse..10energy)
Parasitic Bond (20sec -1 health to foe, heals for 72 if opponent dies or 20sec is up....5energy)
Plague Touch (transfers 1 condition from yourself to target....5energy)
Some Warrior skills are:
Sever Artery
Gash
Savage Slash
Bonetti's Defense
Endure Pain
Hope this helps. For other information contact me in game: Feywolf Tigereye

Yes I'd like to think so.
Personally, I have a 16 W/N that uses axes and curses.
My spell are...
Mark of Pain (My Crowd Control)
Which is cast on one enemy... and subsequently damages any other foes around when that enemy is hit (great stacked with Firestorm, another Mark of Pain, or just a bunch of damagers).
Insidious Parasite(1v1)
This is more for pvp or tanking boss monsters (It completely killed someone using flurry by itself, which was rewarding).
When cast is drains hp of the target whenever they hit you for a duration of time.
I'm experimenting with Suffering for another crowd control (2 health decay for an area of effect)
As far as warrior skills I'm also somewhat experimenting.
For health as of now, I'm using Endure Pain.
I always have a couple attack skills ready...
Which I try to balance between Magic and Adrenaline
I use Bonetti's Defense for pvp (the heavy magic cost of the necro spells)
But I'm thinking that I could interchange that with something.
Anyway... W/N work great for groups... I've been in arena groups with two of them and had great success, and I've been in a mission with four (including myself) and everything worked out.

hmm..thanks for your guys' input. But my friend gave me an idea of being W/E and use earth magic for armor so i can be a super tanker. So now i gotta debate :( i hate debating........
Personally, I find a tanker that can self heal much more beneficial than one that can just take physical damage....especially later in the game where elemental and hex damage is used a lot.
Warriors with a high level of Blood Magic are VERY party friendly due to area-wide +4-6 health regen when using Well of Blood...based on how high your skills are. That lasts for about 15-20 seconds and heals all surrounding allies.
Life Siphon is also a personal favorite for two reasons. 1.) The enemy loses life 2.) You gain life. Quite simple actually. This is especialy nice since it's not elite.
To top off the build, I'm very fond of the elite skill Victory is Mine! That skill is amazing for a warrior! That combined with necro condition skills and/or warrior ones will keep you alive a LONG time....allowing your monks to heal others instead of you....always a party favorite!
Weapon choice is up to you... I prefer axes over swords simply because of Cyclone Axe (instead of Hundred Blades...which is elite). Each weapon mastery has it's bonuses, though.
my first char was a warrior necro - a throwback to a diablo 2 necro i used with a zeal granting weapon... Hey there's gotta be a curse like amp damage... right? :)
anyway, deleted him after a while (l18) because i didn't like the name, and it was only 4-5 days anyway, no big deal starting a warrior/smiting monk build. great farmer, but for some reason was boring compared to the w/n. So he went bye bye (really want more than 4 character slots) and the w/n II took his place. unfortunately, now i can't get hundred blades as early . meh. I like the necro mix becaue with a few enemies nearby, i heal more than just one - siphon stacks on enemies. I use an axe and sword - just use the sword for bleeding, and reducing enemy health by 20%. If an enemy is at 80% health, and loses 4 points of health, then when that effect wears off, its as if he lost 5 points.
I've been able to get through the first 2 missions solo :) that's how awesome siphon is. Mark of pain is a tru plessing as well since that damage totally skips armor. heck i do more damage through mark of pain to any one enemy than with my axe alone.
(ps: I'm sure experienced players can get through the first few missions on solo with most builds, but i feel special:) w00t!)
as for "is it good for parties"
A lot of people commented on both the tanking ability from my previous guy, as well as how nice it was to have pool of blood. You REALLY ease up the party healer when using that. If you're also a good leader, and call targets with using mark of pain - who wont love you?
I've now found a second use for my W/N...instead of just tanking and party healing...
I can farm like crazy.
With Unholy Feast, Bonetti's, and Cyclone Axe alone I can take down 12 of 18 guys solo... For the remaining lot, it gets a bit more tricky without Life Transfer (I have GOT to find that somewhere!). For now Blood Wells are working in its place...although killing is a bit slower that way. Taking on 18 lvl 24 guys at a time solo is just crazy fun to me!
yeah found that out for early on :) not quite farming, but from sardelac, i can attract about 6-8 of those stoners and stay alive/kill them using stacked siphon/mark of pain. I tried it on the ruins of surmia bit (that 1 minute run from frontier gate to surmia - WHY do people even bother looking for a party, much less complaining about level) against 8-12 grawl, i'd last a while, but the problem comes in that i just can't attack :bonk: moment i do, i get knocked down by counter.

No doubt about that, soul feast realli packs a punch on healing and it really saves the monks a lot of trouble. Right now i am using a grim cesta with +10 energy and working with mark of pain and well of suffering on mobs which works pretty well too :surprise: .
Just an idea, wouldnt it be cool if u hit with sever atery and than virulence? the diesease and weakness will make short work of anyone when gash and final thurst comes in next right?

Hey I also have a lvl 20 W/N (close to ascending) and I love it! I havn't tried many different combos besides switching from sword (which isn't worth much until you get final thrust and 100 blades) to axe (mainly because trying to make skeles bleed just dont work haha) and axe has been doing mighty fine!
Attributes:
11 blood magic
8 strength
12 axe
2 tactics (I think)
I usually use only life siphon and well of blood for necro skills and I compensate for low energy with a +11 offhand thingy, which I replaced my gladiators armor for better armor with. the result was I had higher defense and energy than if I had kept my gladiators and used a shield :happy34:
ANYWAYS, my build works pretty good and I havn't died hardly any lately except for hydras (darn their meteors and fire strikes 100+damage) all attacking me at once. At first, I didn't know if i liked W/N, but I now see it is much more party friendly than a W/Mo because of wells and hexes. Just try a character and stick with it, I'm a very indecisive person so I just said what the heck and tried W/N and it worked out fine :happy14:

Life Transfer can be found in the Iron Mines of Moladune on Feodor The Baneful (look for him on the right side of the bridge...just before the Griffins)
