Hmm, ok well I was browsing the elementalist skill lists and I saw this one called Mark of Rodgort. I thought it was pretty good, but I'm sorta stumpped on how I can get my hands on it. Where exactly are the copperhammer mines and what do i have to do exactly to obtain this skill?

I got to the Copperhammer Mines from the "Iron Mines of Moladune" its about dead west from there.

To get the skill, you pay 1 skill point and I think 120gold ?

Man, really? Ok, assuming the Iron Mines of Moladune are after ascension and are therefore in lower shiverpeaks, is there any way to get there from northern shiverpeaks besides going the long way? Like through the Frost Gate or something.

Yes, you can. You have to go south from Becon's perch(make sure you exit the correct part of Becon's Perch), but its still a very long way.

the gold cost for skills is relevent to the number you have bought. it increases by 10 i think, each time you buy a skill.

and no there is no "easy" way to get to copperhammer mines. its pretty much a given that you wont get there unless you are level 20 and have a full party of level 20's (henchmen are actually very good post-ascension, use them if you have to) any party not full and not all level 20 will get ripped to shreds in the areas around there, and leading up to, copperhammer mines.

There's an inferno imp boss West of the Temple of the Ages who uses the Mark of Rodgort. You could walk out there with a Signet of Capture and grab it. Half the price of buying it at the mines and A HELL of a lot earlier.
