Well so far I've created a Warrior/Necromancer (Currently at level 8) and I just started to fight PvP in the Ascalon arena...yes I'm new and I know there are a few posts out there but I can't seem to find them
Firstly, my W/N has his attributes spread out through Curses, Death, Strenght and Swordsmanship (3/2/3/5) and he does pretty well im PvP. I usually end up winning but I'm deprived of energy at times when I need it most--
So my question is:
Which class is better for PvP, should I go Necro/Warrior or Warrior/Necro?
The skills that I use are:
Sever Artery
Gash
Power Attack
Parasitic Bond
Soul Feast
Faintheartedness
Endure Pain
Ressurection Signet
Comments and Help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Lemme sum it up like this. The basic arguement comes down to "more energy and Necro runes or less energy and Warrior runes?" For all intents and purposes I'd side with the W/N everytime. Strength skills like Warrior's Endurance and Flourish combat the higher base energy of the N/W and the ability to have a higher weapon attribute than a N/W also plays a pivotal role. Also don't forget that Strength is a better PvP attribute than Soul Reaping.

Im a W/N that uses Str.Axes.Curses.
I knocked out every other Necro that I was up against in Shiverpeak from lvl 14-16.
I've yet to test my build in the Champion arena.

I'm a N/W but I use blood, curses and sword. I basically made the char for RP potential, but I found that i use frenzy/barb and Vtouch most often and i never have trouble stayin alive. If I go PvP i go risky and start with blood renewal and syphon which works out more often than not, and with faintheartedness you can get a real dealth drop stack goin. Mark of Pain and of course, 100blades are also good for PvE ... and Rigor Mortis and Plague Touch are great to toy with for PvP (Rigor vs the mass of warriors is nice).
Either way, he's a fantastic character but I'm starting a new char soon because I have to experiment with as much as possible

Tis a little strange. W/N always say they beat N/W and myself, as a N/W, I have very little problem against W/N.
The Warrior armour isn't that much better than Necro, Necro armour *is not* particularly weak. Likewise it's not just the extra 10 energy (which helps a lot) but the extra regen (this seems to get forgotten about).

i would recomend necro first cause warriors allways go out of energy...
AND NECROS LOOK GREAT !!!

Ah the number one reason why people play a Necro primary.
Unfortunately Warrior's Endurance tends to topple the energy bonus of a N/W quite easily so the whole "I have more energy" thing doesn't quite cut it anymore. And I can think of a couple nasty Flourish builds that also make energy problems a thing of the past.

I have a N/W who is 15th lvl. I lead the way on all missions and quests and carry the warriors. I am always the last man standing. When the Warriors and the Monks are all dead I use Unholy feast to heal and finish the fighting. And summon minions to help shield the attacks.
If I am fighting someone who uses physical attacks such as Warriors I cast Insidious Parasite first and just watch the person die as they hit me. Well of blood next to lower the health regeneration of all attackers. Faintheartedness next to lower their attack speed and more health degeneration. So now they are gaining health at about -8 to -12. I can just hack away with the vampiric sword at 15-22 +2 life stealing and 25% more to damage with gash or sever artery or just hit you with about 4 vampiric gazes in a row. As they die I summon minions to help.
There have been more times than I can count that it is me and 4 or more minions left standing while I run around to rez everyone. If played right this can be an incredibly powerful character. Dont let anyone tell you different N/W can be a force.

Thanks for all the input, so I guess I'm gonna stick with my N/W.
Final Question: (About Attributes)
On my W/N I used Curses, Str, Swordsmanship, Blood and Tactics but for a N/W should I spread it out again (no strenght though, maybe 3 into Soul Reaping)? Or should I just focus on 3?
Im thinking Im going to go with Swordsmanship, Tactics (few good shouts n stances), Blood Magic and Curses. Good Idea/Bad Idea?
And again, my play style is sort of debuff and then get into melee...if that changes anything. And thanks again for all the responces

Blood is my number 1 attribute followed by swords and curses. I like the tactics style because you can add shields.
I didnt do put anything into tactics but I have pondered it quite a bit just for the shield boost. I have found great shields too so that made it even harder. But when you get to 10 blood you can really throw some huge life swapping spells out there. But that sounds like a good plan. I have been told to focus on 3 but play it out and see how your character does. Could discover something great.
I go blood/hammer/reaping
or blood/sword/tact/minor reaping
both have done very well. i dont tend to use curses, because i use alot of warrior stuff and want to limit my casting time.
