Go to Sanctum Cay, enter mission solo with skills
More Energy = Faster drake kills
Bathazars Spirit
Bathazars Auro
Symbol of Wraith
if u got axe - Cyclone Axe
Healing Signet
Healing Breeze
Sprint
-whatever else you want to bring, healing, protection
Zealots Fire is a good option too.

When mission starts, run north past first set of imps with sprint, 3-4 imps always. (casting healing breeze before agro is helpful for first timers) Once u loose agro stop, healing signet and breeze, wait for sprint, then sprint past last group of imps 3-4 always. Now u will be at the beach. Heal up full and cast Bathazars spirit. Now go agro all the drakes from 7-9 ive seen. Heal Breeze, Heal Signet, then cast Bathazars Auro, Symbol of wraith. Signet Healing Breeze. You'll have full mana in seconds so wait for the cooldown on your AE spells and just spam healing. In less then 2 minutes from starting and completing you'll kill all drakes and get all gold and items from them. Did i say 2 mins, yes i did, when u get good at this you can get your 60k armor in hours. Enjoy, and please make this post large and in charge with other farming areas and walk throughs.

This seems pretty good. Just one question, Is this doable with other W/ class combos? 7-9 Drakes doesnt seem very hard. Unless theyre Grand Drakes... =X

I do this with my Mo/W as well as Riverside. Both have the same effect. I find better drops from Riverside, but still go to Sanctum Cay every now and then.

what exactly do you do in riverside, as I recall its only good for those giants and their armor drops for salvage of runes

I actually get a surprising amount of runes from the White Mantle, myself. I kill about 24 white mantle on my way to the Giants, and I average a rune or two for each run. Then the Giants are always random... I did the run three times today and got zero runes. I did it once last night and got three...

All I can say is the white mantle emblems and badges add up... A stack of 250 of them sell for 6250 gold... It adds up really quick.

Keep in mind this is all solo, no henchies or anything else. Just my skills and I!

Sorry, it wouldnt let me edit my post.

Anyways, I just tried this and i got 400 gold a run. Each run was 5 minutes or less too! Oh yes, I did this with my W/R, I basically used Apply Poison + Cyclone Axe and Troll Unguent when needed.

Advice for rangers: Dump your pet for this farming run. Take Sprint, or Lightning Reflexes.

Sorry to go off topic - I really appreciate posts like these that actually help other players rather than say "I know the best farming location, I'm just not telling anyone".

Where on earth (or Tyria perhaps) can I get Apply Poison? I'm playing a Warrior/Ranger (level 20, at Droknar's Forge now) and simply cannot find it. One of my friends apparently got it from the Yak's bend skill vendor, but it's not there for me, nor in any of my quest rewards. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Asmira, I'll point you in three locations.

1) Try the Ranger section of the forums

2) Try to use the "search" function located at the top of your screen

3) go to gwonline.net, click on "ranger" in the left column, find the skill you desire by scrolling down, then click the "availability" button next to the name. That should bring up the monster or NPC you can get the skill from.

I forget exactly where but you can actually get in near Ascalon. I think you can also get it from the captin at the ascalon province north of LA.

Thanks lots! I may be the only person in the world who didn't see the "availability" button.

Asmira the different between people in any game is measured by skill, gold and knowledge of the game. Maybe those people (including me) found the farming spot by themselves, they dont want anybody else to know it cuz you dont want the game full of rich people and money become useless. That is what happenned in Arid Sea. People flock there and farm like crazy, after that the price of all the stuff sky rocketting to k k k... You dont want to see that happens again. Im not selfish or something but that just the nature of the game: you keep your secrect to get further than other people.
Well to me I found Perd Rock is the best farming place by killing flesh golems. However how well can you handle them, you have to find out yourself :happy34:

well that might be true but you don't have to say "i know the best farming location but i'm not going to tell." what would be the point of telling us you know the best farming location......

i haven't seen a drake drop a decent weapon since it got nerfed :( . flesh golems are nice for farming gold/exp. i'm sure it's going to get nerfed soon though.

I told you guys the best farming location cuz I dont want you to think me as selfish as the other people. However I dont tell you all the tricks so its fair game :D I give you the base you build your own house. Big or small depends on your knowledge of the game.
I doubt if they can nerf those golems any more because their loot sux bad already lol (moreover, most of them are necro stuff). I never got a single rare gold from them, only ----ty items that sold for about 70g.

There's a reason people don't like to say farming locations. They tend to get "nerfed" when people start talking about them.

You can get Apply Poison from the Captain in Ascalon Settlement, NNE of Lion's Arch (it's an explorable area outpost, not a map point).

This while the cause of farming is not so much that good items are that much more abundant in certain locations, but rather the fact that certain classes can solo certain areas. There wouldn't be that much farming to begin with if the only way for any class combo to get good items would be to go with a group instead of solo.
In so far that farming is a problem, the solution would be to make it impossible for any class combo to solo any of the relatively high level areas. This would mean nerfing mainly the monk, which is probably the last thing that monks want (including myself).

Nerfing the areas with good drops is a backwards solution since it also affects groups who are there not to farm. It reduces availability of good items to everyone, thus reducing rewards over all.
If the effort-to-reward ratio was ok to begin with, nerfing certain areas means there is to little reward in those areas for groups who are just doing mission, quests or exploring. People will be doing missions anyway, but reduced rewards means reduced incentive to explore, which defeats the purpose of the existance of explorable areas, which diminishes the game.

You deffinately want to take healing signet out of that equation, don't wanna be caught by 1 or more lightning orbs when using it... Double damage!

The main bulk of this build is using Balthazar's Spirit, Zealot's Fire, and AoE spells, such as Symbol of Wrath and Balthazar's Aura, then casting as many spells, stances, and enchantments on yourself as possible to utilize Zealot's Fire. This can be done with any (wether secondary or primary) monk build. You seemed pretty happy from getting 400 gold a run, but I just thought you missed the point of the build.

Back on topic now...

This seems to be becoming a more popular farming build, as I've seen... From what you've listed, I believe Cyclone Axe could be replaced with a cheap stance, such as Flurry. The purpose is that stances can be casted whenever, even in the midst of the delay of long casting spell (cough Symbol of Wrath), and deal the damage from Zealot's Wrath. So, what i'm trying to say, is you don't even need to attack with melee at all. With Balthazar's Spirit you can even use adrenal stances.

You should defenitly try this over at Riverside Province, less time haggling to get to the drakes, and almost all the White Mantle Justiciars / Zealots / Knights are good to kill. Only thing you gotta make sure you do is kill them all, and have a little extra overkill damage, as if one or two survive they will use "I Will Avenge You" :(

Cyclone axe+bonetti's defense -heals (+mending, since that's all you need, and you will regen MORE than enough off the spirit even without ANY energy regen) FTW. You can stay in bonetti's stance constantly while not casting (since one cyclone axe will charge it when you aren't surrounded) you do damage for activating it, damage for activating cyclone axe, and can basically just alternate those two while waiting for your AOE to recharge. With this build I can do 20 drake runs in a half-hour = :D :D

I think this can be done with like every (farm)build:
E/Me
W/X (they really dont hurt you that much when putting up defenses)
Mo/W
Me/Mo
etc. etc.
I wouldn't suggest Balth Aura and Symbol though, it makes em run like crazy.
Probably better with some fast attack skills.

Gotta try it out someday to see if it drops something nicely.

You two do realize that that this thread and build was made over a year ago, before the AoE nerf, right? Back then, monsters just stood there while you spammed AoE skills such as Balthazar's Aura and Symbol of Wrath. After the nerf a while ago, the AI was made smarter, and monsters started running away when you cast AoE skills on them.

This is a very old thread that has been ressurected. There have been many changes to GW that have affected the validity of the content of the OP. I am hence closing this thread. Please visit the warrior forum for more current warrior farming threads.
Thanks.
