New to Game

Just started game not long ago as Monk and have a stupid question but using healing spells that say in description target ally can that target ally be yourself or does it have to be another party member? If it can be myself will it help me when I cast it if I dont target and ally or do I have to specifically target myself?

target ally means that you can cast it on yourself

target other ally means that you can only cast them on other ally and not yourself
