View Full Version : Unsticking henchmen
I've had a few instances where I'm out adventuring, get in to a bad fray and die, only to see that one of my henchmen isn't with me. Once I die I can switch to their camera view, and usually find them stuck behind something.
The real problem is that I won't rez if that hireling stays alive, and since they're stuck, I seem to have no option but to map travel back to a city :(
Is there something I'm missing? Besides the obvious, make sure the henchmen follow me all the time?
The AI pathing is HORRIBLE. As far as I know there's nothing you can do in that situation (happened to me once, with my healer henchman.. man was I pissed).
Best thing you can do is religiously make sure all your henchies are nearby regularly, as you travel along.
I hope they address this problem. Heck I wouldn't mind if they pop/teleport the stuck henchie to you after a certain distance.
But really, they need to fix this problem. A game of this magnitude and polish should not have pathing AI this bad...

They need to make it so you can auto-kill your henchmen. It wouldn't be a permanent fix, but it would save me sooooo much inconvenience.

So far this has happened to me on 3 occasions (once with 2 henchmen stuck in the side of a mountain at once). Hopefully they will fix the bug sometime, but until then my only suggestion is that you be ready to port to a town when it happens and hope that you are not that far out when it does. It is a pretty bad bug, but no game is without it's bugs.

Now they made it so if there is one henchmen that is not in combat left, after a while, you automatically ressurect at the nearest ressurection circle, but this is only with explorable areas.

I've had a few instances where we all respawn and one or two henchines would go back to the spot where we died only to get killed again and again.
I can't even call them back by targetting a nearby monster. :confused:

my theory on that one (and yes it's happened to me a number of times) is that for some reason the henchies think you're still dead at the spot that you died so theyre running back as fast as they can to res u, since that is pretty much their top priority when they are all at full health. A somewhat plausible theory even if 2 henchies do it, cuz the non-healer henchies still have res signet.
but yeah there are several henchman problems that need to be fixed.

There has been many times i have wanted to tear the Healer henchman apart.
she always goes where she shouldnt like in the middle of a monster pack with the warrior or near monsters that havent aggro'ed yet.
Also when im dead why doesnt she res me right away? she continues to heal or fight.And why does she fight anyway isnt the healers job to sit in the back and heal? yes i know its boring but there a "HEALER" not a fighter.its just wasteing mana that could be used for healing when she fights.
i wish there was some sort of control over the henchman like "wait here" "Stop" "attack" "protect" etc. same with hunter pets too wish there was control over them too.

Ummmm no. Last night (May 31) 2 henchies decided to go flying (it looked really cool). Needless to say I kinda needed their help to kill off 10 ice imps. Since they were busy floating the party didn't res. I went afk for a while to see if i would. 40 min later still no res.

Skeptic, you had 2 henchies. If you read Hunt3r_kill4's post, he mentioned 1 henchie :)
I observed it last night. Myself and all but one henchie got wiped out by some shadows... and then I got rezed back at the nearest circle.
I assumed it was the same, my bad. Nice to see that they fixed it in part, but as I saw last night with more than one its still hosed.

They didnt fix anything. If one henchie is still alive the only time you rez is if that henchie doesnt have a spell to revive. If he does and is stuck you sit for eternity.
Once I had my healer stuck on a signpost in the middle of a 'freakin field! Tell me how that happens!
