View Full Version : Please help me with this IW build
3+1 fast cast
12+2 illusion
9+1 insp
9 tactics
conjure phantasm
illusionary weapon (elite)
illusion of weakness
phantom pain
ether feast
clumsiness
healing singet
wary stance
plan on using a sword and a shield (or focus, please tell me which i should use) and using healing singet or ether feast for healing. Clumsiness to finish of warriors. Illusion of weakness if i can heal myself back up, phantom pain and conjure for dmg and wary stance if im getting attacked by melee and need some energy to heal and such. :p

Get flurry to maximize the hits you land with IW and distortion to protect you from attacks. These are staples but if you think you can manage without em its still fine
wary stance has a 75% chance to dodge atttacks and when u dodge you gain 5 energy (il switch clumsiness for flurry)

Im well aware of what wary stance can do but check its recharge time, you will have alot of time being vulnerable compared to distortion.
You can use both, wary stance to recover those lost from distortion.
I'm against subbing distortion into this build.
It will simply have too great of a drain on energy. If you rely on Distortion to save you, and use it repeatedly to make yourself have a high chance of dodging, you will run out of energy rather rapidly in this build, and when your lose your IW you are basically just on the run. You would be better suited to cast it once and get away, or useing a run buff.
You might put in Disciplined or Defensive stance as well. Might work out better than Clumsiness or Illusion of Weakness. It will also give you a max of 20 seconds of dodging and a downtime of about 15 seconds if you used any 2 of the 3.
If you do use more than one along with Wary, use the other first as they will be building up their adrenaline then unleashing attacks.

I haven't tried it, but Sympathetic Visage might work well for both adrenaline draining and a cover enchantment for IW.
!!
if you get 16 (12+4) illusion distortion doesnt take energy away!! >:D or so the skill calculater says :happy14:
my new build
FC 3+1
illusion12+4
insp 9+1
tactics 9
conjure phan
Illusion of weakness
IW
ether feast
disciplined stance (ends if u use adren skill which i dont have)
healing signet
flurry
distortion (no energy loss!!)
same thing sept I have discipline and, flurry, and distortion (and 16 illusion)
oh by the way, IW deals 43 dmg with this much illusion.. :happy65:
I wonder if that IS true. Of course with a superior Illusion rune you'd have to use Distortion just to stay alive. O.o;
Am I the only one who noticed that Wary Stance only stops attack skills and not ALL attacks? Bonetti's Defense is better, because it works on all attacks and because it's an adrenaline skill (and thus has no energy cost, which would work great for this). Also, combined with Flurry you'd be able to recharge it pretty fast.
While you're recharging Bonetti's Defense you can spam Distortion, and since you have no attack skills you have no fear of losing Bonetti's Defense early.

Too bad you can't get over 13 in Illusion (or any other skill for that matter, boosting it a lot only saves a lot of attribute points as far as I know.
Too bad you can't get over 13 in Illusion
Explain.............
um i was told with IW you can't get adrenaline so all adrenaline skills are useless... (and u can get 16 illusion, with -75 health)

because you are not really hitting the person you dont gain adrenaline
and for that much illusion magic you will be using a superior rune and that causes you to lose 75 Health

yeah i know everything about IW, and i said -75 health..that means 75 less health
