You're not a Monk, and your secondary is not a Monk either. You won't get any skills to cure you like a Monk either. You need a Monk for that :) I'm afraid you just have to manage with the type of 'heals' you have now, because it won't be getting much better in the future.

I hate to say this, but...If you have such a hard time playing this class combination already, then maybe this is not the right class for you? Maybe you should try a different one first, to see if you like that better, before you go on with your Me/E and get frustrated with it.

If you want to keep playing your Me/E regardless: I have a Me/N and solely used Mesmer skills throughout the whole game and made it all the way to the end with it. It's not the easiest class to do the PvM with, I admit. But it's definitely not impossible.

Here's one tip that sound obvious, but it's an important one: do not to run into mobs first (and take all the damage from the angry mobs). You're like a paperbag and you can't do any major healing, so the only thing you can do is stay away from the mobs so you don't get damage in the first place. If you are in group with players, stay in the back. Not ever run ahead first. Don't ever attack first. It's more difficult with henchmen, but what you do is: you slowly walk up to a group of mobs, step by step, until they see you. Don't attack yet, but run like hell to get BEHIND your henchmen and THEN attack. Very often, at least some mobs go pounding on your henchmen instead of you. You can also use your henchmen more efficiently if you direct all of them to attack the same mob. Target a mob, and and then press CTRL + Spacebar, and all the henchies will attack the same target. It's called 'focus fire' and usually works better than having every henchman attack a different mob. Any mob that is still alive does damage. So if you can reduce the number of mobs by wittling them down 1 by 1, you gradually get less damage on you and your team.

Another tip: make sure you get the best armour you can possibly get in that region. Every little bit helps.

If you take henchmen, make sure you take the healer with you. Don't know where you are, but my guess is: around Ascalon Post-searing. There are 4 henchmen to hire. Just make sure you have the healer with you when you pick 3 of them.

If you can find Aura of Restoration it might help you out some in the begining. You might also consider an elemental tree that offers some added armor as well.

The most important thing is to take on one mob at a time and not bite off more than you can chew. You wont be able to use a lot of high cost skills either, so take it easy on your energy supply.

The Me/Ele wont be as damage oriented as an Ele/Me, as it has a smaller energy pool. You can still play through efficiently though, you'll just have to be more reserved and less damage oriented.
