View Full Version : Problem With Mark Of Roghdoth
Hi all! :) I just learned Mark Of roghdoth spell and tried to used it with fragility. I've put my fire lv to 2 to keep the foe burning for only 1 sec but it seem to burn for 2 sec aniway  (im 99% sure he burn 2 sec instead of 1) ... The foe dont have time to recover from burning before I shoot him again with my wand :(....did some1 else have that problem? Ani help would be helpful plz :(

wait.. what's the problem here? that the burning duration didn't go down? it's not supposed to go down, as far as i'm aware, it is supposed to go UP. and there's nothing wrong with that, is there?
Wait a bit :)
Its unusual, perhaps an ally cast it on the target as well :S

Check if they're taking fragility damage. It may just be a display error. Anyway, I'll be so pissed if they nerfed this, this is a great combo.
And please, it's Mark of Rodgort. I can understand a typo, but that's so very wrong. >P
Things appear to burn longer than they actually do burn. The flames subside slowly after they stop burning and disappear over a second or two. As was suggested above, watch for Fragility damage as you attack. I'm pretty sure it will work. If not... Switch to a slower fire weapon?

nerfed? why would it be WORSE for them to burn LONGER?
because they want to use fragility to exploit shooting the guy with a weapon doing fire damage. burning begins, get hit with fragility, as burning ends, they get hit again with a firery weapon, triggering it and fragility ...
Alone Fragility does nothing. But the key is that whenever the hexed target gains or recovers from a condition it takes damage. The damage taken isn't a whole lot, around 30 average, but consider what would happen if a monster was set on fire and then recovered from burning after one second. That's 60 damage after one second, and all you did was shoot it with a weapon that does fire damage. It needn't be a high damage weapon either, a level 0 Fire magic Flare would be sufficient. A 2-4 damage fire wand would do the job too.
Now consider doing that for the full duration of Mark of Rodgort (about 9-10 seconds at Fire magic 2), that's a potential 500-600 damage from Fragility alone! So you can see why it would be considered a nerf if the burn duration doesn't end like it's suppose to.
Thats what he wants to do Feynt - he explained that above...
Take Forbiddens advice, keep an eye on the fragility damage.
Its unlike they'd nerf it since it doesn't do spike damage. The nerfing of skills comes purely from PvP and there isn't a problem currently with that. It doesn't do enough damage fast enough

Ive switch my wand to the elemantalist starter rod, still dont work. And there is only fragility damage when i hit the first time, or if i wait a sec before shooting again :( (He do burning 2 sec... i c his health go down)
well..thx aniway guy:)... ive switch my build to air/earth due to the fact i cant use this combo:(
Try a bow instead, they fire much slower and you don't care about weapon damage.

how about other ways to get fire damage, maybe have a freind smack it with a fire hammer? flare?
Flare can cast too fast, and hammer warriors use Frenzy because they attack too slowly otherwise to make use of all their adrenaline skills.

this was posted when guild war started ( its a bug) it does 1 second but just looks as if it was 2 seconds, the attack of burning duration was still really 1 second.
