how do u stay alive?

few questions for all you mesmers out there.

when a warrior is chasing you, what do you do to stay alive and get back at doing your job quickly?

do you:

1 - slow and run?

2 - put up defensive spells and get back to work?

3 - put up defensive spells and then offensive/anti warrior spells and duke it out?

ive tried all 3. they dont often work.

what do you do if a warrior AND a ranged caster or ranger are after you?

i usually just run for my life and die soon anyway. :D

I use distortion because my build is energy drainer and i usually do not run out of energy even while in distortion stance.

Even once i pissed off a warrior by dancing in front of him while distorted making his attacks miss. He eventually gave up and went for anotehr person, so i resumed to my regular casting.


If you are focused fire, just run and use defensive spells. Even if you're going to inevitably die, you are buying some time for your teammates.

In ascalon arena I would use empathy as they run at me and chaos storm while they are in comabt with me. :lol: If that didn't kill em quick enough I'd have my conjure phantasm last 5 seconds so I'd know when to shatter delusions and use energy burn.
