does it give energy for the range where u cast, or nearby ure character?( adjacent to u or adjacent to place where u cast?_

adjacent to you. If you have one foe beside you when you cast a spell, then you steal 1 energy from that foe. IF there are 7, then you steal 1 from each to gain 7.
