View Full Version : The Searing
First off I would like to say, if you have only just started playing Guild Wars with your very first character and have not yet gotten past the Searing (you will know what this is once you have seen it), I advise you dismiss this thread right now, as the content contained has minor plot spoilers
For the rest of you, this is just a quick little video I slapped together focused on the Searing. I know it's nothing flashy, but feel free to leave any feedback (both positive and negative).
The Searing (2:39, 640x480, 26mb) (http://armagon.w00ties.com/Movies/The%20Searing.wmv)
P.S. For those of you who may be interested to know, the song I used in this video is "Protect Life" by Eric Serra.
not bad.. but i kinda thought nothing was gonna happen cause the first 2 mins were just little clips of nothingness :P
it was all good, but when you showd the charr guy using the magical thing it woulda been better if the music went aggro :P
Hey, I really like this movie. The transitions are smooth and the music is just pleasent and fitting, but i really like how you used the transition from pre to post ascalon and te pose of your ele character.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. :)

AAAH!!!! Gwen!!! *ducks and covers*:scared16:
Quite a pleasant little movie overall though; maybe do a darker Part 2 with some good Killswitch Engage or something of that sort. Excellent first go.

Very cool! I didn't have my headphones on the first time I went through searing and missed parts of it scrambling to find them. It makes more sense now. Thanks for the (non-verbal) narrative. Well done. :happy14:
I must admit I've been tempted to do another one. Though a real annoyance with Guild Wars is that camera is fairly limited if you don't want to see your character in the shot. :(

zoom all the way in with the mouse wheel so its just like lookin out of ur chars eyes
zoom all the way in with the mouse wheel so its just like lookin out of ur chars eyesI am already aware of this ability, I used it for the Searing video. The problem is, if you are doing camera work from the eyes of the character you are limited to on-ground camera shooting. If you want to do an external high angle shot you cannot do so without your character being in view.
