View Full Version : Elementalist Warrior
I'm highly skeptical about this build.
With many encounters I've had with them, they're always losing to me (mes/w).
One - backfire on a elementalist, he didnt notice it, and flared himself to death.
Second - again backfired, as I ran up to her, Ward against melee, Levitate... I used Distortion and IW... even if she hit me, it wasnt hard enough.
I dont know how well they can do against other classes, as they sure as hell suck at tanking.
I mean a Warrior Elementalist I can understand, take all the damage and cast an AOE spell while fighting.
But elementalist warrior? :/ like I said, highly skeptical on the probablity of their effectivness in battle.
I mean, an E/mo would make more sense, and be more versatile, just convert all their attributes to healing magic and they can out heal a monk due to their energy storage. as with one mission I was in, while the monk kept showing how much ene he had left, the E/mo was constantly healing everyone.
They're bad. Really bad. To everyone coming in saying that they can take dmg as earth ele, I'll tell you the following: Enchantment removal.
They'd better off using their warrior half for defensive stances and very little into their weapon. Only exception would be hammer for a knockdown or two.

I guess e/w it could work ok with the right setup. Ive never tried it, but if I were to try It I would use water magic.
1. mist form
2. armor of mist
3. blurred vision
4. ice spikes
5. frozen burst
6. dismember
7. axe twist
9. rez signet/healing signet
and use an axe with an icey axe haft equiped (just to go along with the theme :happy34: )
But like you said, enchantment removel would own you for the most part, dunno
Only way to know if they work at all would be to try it for youself I guess

well a E/W with hammer + air magic knockdowns was a little build that I was throwing around (no real intention of making one as there are lots more I want to try first).
I am not going to spell it out because it's fairly obvious...just stack up as many knockdowns as possible to constantly keep your target on the ground (have everyone target one monk while you keep the other incapacitated).
the build i was focusing on didnt rely on enchantments or hexs or anything...the only weak part was that if everyone decided to focus fire me id be toast in like 2 secs (counting on the other team going after our monks and mesmers first).
El/War here. Sprint + Axe or Sword + Elites = Dead Mesmers and Monks. No need for big spells. Dont care about enchantment stripping when I am not using any. Yes killed a passel of mesmers and quite a few monks.
Very much a fun role to play. Although I would say you need to be at least lvl 20 with the majority of elites in both professions to make it interesting.

But the way you are playing your El/War is just like a pure warrior with more mana and crappy armor. Am I missing something? What skills? 0_0

Empathy + Backfire + Distortion or Flurry + Illusionary weapon = ignores all blinding, evading and blocking effects. You feel a need to shoot a spell at me, you take a chunk out of your hp >.>
You swipe at me with your sword, you still take more damage combined with my illusionary weapon combined with empathy.
With a warrior, they can just outlive me with more HP.
With an Elementalists, I dont see how, we're both spell caster and have about the same HP.
i dont know what your talking about, i have a me/w also, and no other class can kill me, except classes that shatterenchant, even then i have spells, to keep myself in the game, as a me/w your job is never done, but 1 on1 , no other class should kill you, even a w/e if you play correctly

Having killed repeatedly monks and mesmers in PvP play. I am not quite getting why all the fuss. You all make some presumptions. One that you will see me coming. Another you will have time to kill me. I dont care what you have in your arsenal. Strategy and cunning are half the battle. We are not talking about standing around like in a High Noon gunfight. That would mean I am dumb enough to fight by your rules. So, I am and have been effective against your class. It is doable and it has been done. Other E/W equal or superior to my own skill are somehow doing it. Just because you haven't come up against us yet doesn't mean you can't be taken down by this combo. I make no presumptions about what can do me in because this is a skill based game and often I have seen the simplest technique and skill win a battle. Also, I dont have to be better than you. I just have to outlive you. That ability isn't included in a skill bar :happy53:

Please don't think your build is great because you won against some noobs in random arena. Thank you.
