Couldn't find good info on this so decided to make a list of my own. Right now it's only collectors that are in or right outside towns/outposts since I couldn't remember the ones I encountered while traveling from one place to another. Please feel free to add your info to this, or correct my info, I'm hoping if everyone contributes a bit we'll have an up-to-date info about collectors.

Also, this is done w/ Ranger toon, but I'm assuming that the armor pieces are the same just for appropriate profession, i.e. collector who gives masks for rangers will give third eyes for elementalists and helmets for warriors, etc.

Location | Gear | Items | Who Drops

Amnoon Oasis, Headgear, Bleached Shells, ?

Amnoon Oasis, Headgear, Forgotten Seals, Enchanted Bows/Swords, etc. (the undead)

Skyward Reach (outside Augury Rock), No gear, Topaz Crests, ?Desert Drakes?

Destinyís Gorge, Headgear, Shriveled Eyes, Storm Kin (flying squids)

Divinerís Ascent (outside Elonaís Reach), No gear, Minotaur Horns, Minotaurs

The Scar (outside Thirsty River), Leggings, Losaru Mane, Losaru (the centaurs)

P.S. "No gear" means they give staves, focus items and weapons, not armor

Bleached Shells are dropped by all those annoying devourers. God I hate those things.

Bleached Shells are dropped by Wurms. Those annoying things drop Bleached Carapaces.

No, devourers drop Bleached Carapaces.

Only Sand/Seige Wurms drop Bleached Shells.

Edit: Beaten to it! :p

this is a useful list, but im much more interested in the collectors with the "no gear" items. Think you could post what 4 items they give (just the name, stats are usualy the same for all)

Arturo

The following information is a cut-n-paste from an off-site source. I went for the quick answer option rather than going through the process of obtaining permission to link, and by doing so can't really give the proper credit - so if anyone from that unfortunately-due-to-posting-rules-cannot-be-listed website sees this, my thanks.

My main concern is more that people know that this isn't my information and I am by no means trying to pass it off like it is. This was a pet project I had started working on - including maps with marked locations - and never translated from physical notes, but this project was later abandoned once I found this information posted during the time I was working on it even if it didn't have the labeled maps.

I've checked over the info against what I already knew from my own exploration (and from checking locations that were listed when in the area), and made a couple minor alterations from notes and memory to correct things a bit.

(( Note: There are four tiers of collector armor in post-searing - I call them x7 (27/37/47), x9 (39/49/59), x1 (51/61/71), and x0 (60/70/80). The x7 and x9 tiers were somewhat mixed within each other in a 'Lower Level' section, with some of the x9's also scattered in the Mid-level tier in the listing, therefore I removed any I knew to belong to the two lower level tier groups altogether during editing - both in the interests of accuraccy and since I was also (as previously stated) going for a quick reply ))

I hope this helped all of you that are cheap like me and use collector armor from the T2-30/40/50 ones I get immediately after coming to post-sear Ascalon until I can get my top tier (T6-60/70/80) at Droknar. It almost seems a waste of good money and materials to buy it when you can get it free and you only use it for such a short time. Most of the time a quest you're doing anyway takes you right by them.

Most likely that is not from a collector.

yes it is .. that's necro collector armor and looks like it's dyed orange or orange+red .. normally it'd be a dark red with black .. personally, I like that collector armor better than any of those that can be purchased

so to answer the question from HDTran, any of the armor pieces you can get in the Desert as a Necro will give you that look with 60 AL .. all collector armor looks the same for each profession

With the amount of exploring I do, it is often difficult to keep all the collectors in this game straight. To ease my frustration (and hopefully other community member's) I put the following together while finishing my exploration of the Crystal Desert last night:

An Interactive Crystal Desert Map (http://members.skill-club.com/TriX/GW/gw_desert_collectors.htm) (with all the collectors mapped out - to view what that collector offers simply click on the white icon with the collector's initials on them)

A Handy Crystal Desert Collectors Table (http://members.skill-club.com/TriX/GW/gw_desert_collectors_table.htm) (which seperates all the collector items by character attribute - a list of the collector's armor pieces and a rare materials crafter is also included)

I just ascended and completed the Glint mission so my next phase of the project will be to document all the collectors in the Norther Shiverpeaks in the same manner. (I'm still hunting for a collector shield with an enchanted mod). Let me know if I left anything out and also if I wasted my time on this or not. Oh and please excuse the band of hooligans who kept trying to get in the pictures :D.

Cool. Glad some others will get some use out of it. The web server is very reliable so traffic shouldn't be an issue. Now if anyone can tell me where i can find more bleached shells, I'd appreciate it. I've only managed to get one killing everything in that desert at least once, and cannot remember what mob dropped it. I think it may have been a devourer though....

Hehe, yea they ain't pretty. They're identical to Stefan's sword, but with a nice hilt + pommel upgrade they can be the most effective swords in the game. They may look alright with fissure armor though.

I believe they are dropped by Sand Wurms (ugh). The easiest one to reach is the one near Heroes' Audience, due East. I can solo it pretty easily with my W/Me, but the problem is all of the mobs around it.

Those are bleached carpaces (curpaces?), my friend. The shells are alot harder to find. Apparently they only drop from sand wurms, whom I've only ran into while wandering in the middle of the desert maps. I might have to switch to mesmer secondary to go sand wurm hunting. Health degen is definitely more efficient than attacking those monsters. I wonder if the siege wurms in the Dunes mission drop them?

Outstanding! Now if ArenaNet follows through on their statement...

Improved the user interface for collectors. Collectors now accurately and completely describe items that can be obtained from them.
... and and includes the complete description of the Ascalon Bows, my Ranger will be in heaven. Not knowing if an "Ascalon Bow" in my inventory or on the collector acts like a shortbow, longbow, flatbow, etc. without cheat sheets and careful recordkeeping is a bit annoying!

Northern Shiverpeaks is a different animal. All the collectors I've seen there give armor pieces and you'll need six different characters to check them out. Although collector armor before Maguuma Jungle isn't worth the effort, imo.

Ah well, just got to the desert so I'm off to collect body parts and set up a bow test-range! Thanks for the great info! :happy65:

Very nice, thanks! Wish I could say I had the Massive Jawbones but those giants tend to mash me into little Ranger Meatballs!

Now to keep them straight after I get them. Hmmm, can you put grips and such on collector's items? Not that I have very many. Staff wrappings I get by the basketload; bows don't seem to drop as much. Well, and I tend to use bows while instantly salvaging staves.

All collector's items can be modified with a grip and a bowstring, although they can't be salvaged themselves (so plan on losing that mod to the bow, which is usually okay given that they are max damage anyway). Kill some ranger foes repeatedly to get bow drops... I like to smash Rockshot Devourers and Dune Burrowers, myself.

Siege wurms do drop Bleached Shells, but even then, the drop is pretty inconsistent and rare.. I spent over 4k buying 4 bleached shells to make up for the only one that ever dropped for me to get my hands on the shield (best Tactics shield I've ever seen anyway).

Send me a message in-game. I solo Siege Worms for fun and profit, and every extra person makes them die that much more quickly. With two people, it only takes 5min or so to kill one. My in-game name is the same as my board name. Heck, if you do well enough, I may invite you to come kill frost worms. Now THERE is a great time. ;)

-added a materials crafter I previously left out (thanks Hurin66).
-created a table which lists collectors according to the items they want and listed what monsters you kill for them

I wasn't sure of the exact monster names for some of the items so if you have that information send it to me via PM and I can update. Here's the link to the table:

This is my first character, but don't the collectors offer the same type of armor for each class? The same collector gives the shoes/boots, the same one gives leggings, the same ones give the different helms, etc??

It makes sense, but if someone could check that, it would be nice. :)

I'll throw togehter a spiffy thread when it's all done and hopefully the mods will sticky it in here.
