Quick Epidemic question

Epidemic:
Transfer all negative conditions and their remaining durations from target foe to all foes adjacent to your target.

Does the condition remain on the original target? I had always assumed it did. Is the targeted baddie for Epidemic "cured" by the spell, at the expense of his comrades?

Whew. Guess that was a 1/1000 that it hit me three times in a row (tested with ineptitude on Avicara... after I used Epidemic, one hit me about 3 times in rapid succession, made me wonder). Thanks for clearing that up!
