Hehe i was the monk in teal.

We had several formations, the normal line, the face to face, the triangle and the circle. It was a blast.

A lot of people joined our cause of the monk strike! We demand better threatment and respect.

Monks who where there: Cala Mae, Catherina Baneblade, Miss Integra (me), Reine Asuka, Thailii Monkey, Doctrinal Madness, and a few more, forgot the names.

Also wanna thank Rob for making the video, to Feyd Vilo (he is our manager) for the countdowns, Virgil Faust for the beginning, and all the other who joined in. To bad there were a few who spoiled the fun, but they are on the monks blacklist :P

Nope, monk will never get respect. Who are the ones that always leave first in PvE groups? I don't know why but they always leave first. Put a poll on what type of class leaves the most and I bet monks will win.

This might have happend to you, but I never leave in a mission. But uh to be honest with the new wave of new players, it isn't getting easier for monks to heal. And trying the heal a bad party isn't easy, play a monk now and you shall see what most of us are talking about. The older players now not to rush in, play rambo and wait for anyones energy. And yes, some monks overheal, and have little energy left to heal when needed. But flame any monk in the game for that.

Anyhow just enjoy the pictures and the movie.

Yeah we did this after you left. In total most of us spent 4-5 hours dancing and trying new things :p

Yes, I've played the monk. It's not even hard. I can tell you it's way easier than a Mesmer. I just get Divine Favor to 14-16 and use Divine Boon with an elite energy spell. I think most monks ignore Divine Favor and that's why so many are so crappy.

Thats true, when I'm healing I have 16 healing and 13 Divine Favour, and everytime I play I seem to heal better then half of them, just of the divine.

Sure we have dancing monks but theres a true music video in the making between Almighty Jedi's [Jedi] and Lost Cape [LC]. Me and Miss Jazebel are working on it as i type this post. It should be up on the boards soon hopefully if we figure out where everything is going to go. :uhhuh:

Well I could post a step by step guide right here.

First of all get your hand on the following programs:



FRAPS - A free capturing program, but you'll need to "register it" to capture movies longer than a few seconds, which costs money of course. Just google it.

Adobe Premiere - A very handy tool for editing your movies, sticking them together and then exporting them to one AVI file. Not free though.

Windows Media Encoder - Free program to convert avi movies to the much smaller wmv format. Just google it.



First make sure you have several gig of space on your harddisk partition, because when FRAPS captures movies they are uncompressed. If you have a decent machine then you should be able to capture without loss in frames. I usually set the size of the capture to half-size, so that your skillbar and exp bar are not visible.
After capturing several clips, import them into Adobe Premiere and edit until you're satisfied. Then click one of your movie clips and check it's properties, write those down, or keep 'm on screen while exporting the final movie. Choose export, and then make sure that movie size, playing speed and sound properties match those of your clip. Set the encoder to Indeo video, not DIVX! Then export the movie and wait for it to finish, which takes a while. You might want make some thea now, or play GuildWars if your machine can handle those two tasks at once.
After exporting is finished load Windows Media Encoder and select "broadcast, capture, or convert a file using the New Session Wizard", then select "Convert an audio or video file into Windows Media file". Select the target movie, and the target location where you want the movie saved. Choose "File will stream from a Web server or play directly on a computer". Next select the quality, you might want to test this yourself. Personally I'd go for "Video for broadband PAL (768 kbps)". Next you can add some info about the movie and then you are ready to start converting.

Windows Media Encoder converts much faster than Adobe Premiere, and the final file is also much smaller. Smaller even than DIVX, and sound and image quality are even better.


I can't stop watching that music video. Especially those head banging necromancers near the end of the movie crack me up. Be sure to give me a whisper when you're doing that next music video.

I'm still working on the next video, just like with the previous video I mix shots of the dancing monks with shots of solos and just other great dancing moments. I already took an expedition to the Arid Sea with a group just to record us jamming out in the nude on top of the fallen statue, it was awesome.

Anyhow I got a lot of people in my list, and I usually pop in LA dist 1 europe to see if any one is on at night.

I mostly whisper aya and thailii and Rob when we start dancing. Be sure to check back soon, I'm gonna contact Rob and set a date up. Probly best to go an empty district so no one can spoil the fun, and then go to LA when we have the formation sorted out. Cause trust me there are allways some idiots ruining and start dancing between us, or just walking around, or trying to make it in a naked party, which it is not. Its ment for fun, but not for childlish cyberrelated porn stuff for juvenal players who have a go on pixelated boobs.

Anyhow, if we could get 40 female monks, we can do a double double line, that would be awsome, or a double circle.

Well would you believe that so many people share the same interests as us. And to think that a few weeks ago without the addition of a /dance * we'd have to time it perfectly which would take a huge amount of discipline. Well im usually hanging around with that lot although im not a female monk :(. I just attempt to help to organise and orchestrate it all. Well Dancing in synch definately beats being bored to death for 1 hour in 1 match with a load of ranger spirit spammers. I hope them buggers get nerfed sometime soon it truly is quite annoying :). Anyways i look forward to seeing everyone at the next Dance that we have.
