- Angry -
I was sleeping nicely today, then relatives came and woke me up. I swear that whole branch of the extended family tree is :censored: deaf. They always turn up the TV full blast when they arrive, and I'm trying to snooze late on the weekends. I don't simply mean 'Up loud!" but all the way to the max volume. Then they'll try to make 'polite' conversation over it. Next time, I'm yanking out the audio wires before they make it to the living room. Worse, they always seem to turn on those weird 1960s Disney-ish comedy movies--the ones with obnoxious chase scenes, and usually some old man going "WROO WROO WROO!" I don't even know where the hell these come from, since i don't own any such thing on dvd, and i never see them carrying any when they come in.
My question is - When is violence okay? I mean, they range between 4 and 53 years old. They gotta learn waking people has consequences sooner or later, right? Plus they spook the cat, and drink all the pepsi.
Then again, they're all extremely religious types, so I bet Dr. Frank-N-Furter (http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0010150/) could help me out.

I still prefer the bottom one. The color is soft and feminine for a monk.
Yay, ok, so the last couple days I've been working on making Bleak a prot of Tyria...I'm down to one last mission!!! ...Divinity Coast (boy do I HATE this bonus!). Took me an hr and a half to do Ring of Fire's bonus :(
(Next I'll be working on Cantha as she's already 7/13 missions. Zen Daijun, Vizunah, Gyala - which needs to be walked to, Unwaking Waters - which needs to be done for storyline anyway, Raisu Palace, and Imperial Sanctum.)
*Is not looking to do NF Prot yet as 8/20 missions done, but would accompany on those trying to get.*

I have many toons in need of getting through Factions since only one has completed it. As for NF, I have one (Dena) 14/20, but if helping you catch up to me would help me get NF completed, then I'm all in favor of it.

Which dress?
Lane Bryant (http://www.lanebryant.com/pagebuilder/lane_bryant_product_page?item=1873660&ADDING=1&my_nav=apparel_accessories&cat=dresses&subcat=see%20all)
JC Penny (http://www2.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=50434&CatID=64497&GrpTyp=SIZ&ItemID=150add3&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=50444|51368|64496&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=2&CmCatId=50444|51368|64496|64497)
Wal-Mart (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10597739)
Each of these places I can get a $50 gift certificate to, so pretty much the dress will be almost nothing (or in Wal-mart's case, completely free). Only thing is, Wal-mart's GC would cost 500 more points than the other two places.
The first and the third look basically the same to me, and I like them both better than the JC Penny one. I'd give the edge to the Walmart one.
And I'm not even going to make a lame joke implying nudity, such as: No dress is best!
...Oh wait. Oops.

I personally like JC Penney and have good luck with the stuff I buy there, but the other two are the better looking dresses.
The Lane Bryant is likely to be the better quality dress; which if you're trying to get some longevity out of it; is important. Walmart can be quite cheap, which is fine if you want something to wear once in a blue moon that doesn't cost a lot.

I checked the forums as fast as I could and I found out everyone had joined a guild called [BOOKS] (which is a 5 character tag, indeed), and that Ari was intending to sell the guild with GH and GotW reputation before joining [BOOKS] as well.

Nice dream, Jair.
I've decided to go with the Walmart dress for several reasons:
1. My friend made it known that short sleeves like the one on the JC Penny dress makes your arms appear bigger than they really are (something I don't want to happen, obviously).
2. If I get the wrong size, I can just take it to Walmart here and get my money back, then go back to the site and get the right size.
3. Its the cheapest out of all 3.
4. I've never had a problem purchasing clothes from Walmart in that they don't last long. They last plenty long enough for me. Besides, its not like I'm going to be wearing it every day, or even all that often. I don't usually have somewhere nice to go.

he's in the air force, not the army or marines.
Ps: A lot of people said the walmart dress was their second choice
From the Air Force Times:
"Airmen from about 50 Air Force Specialty Codes can pick up a $2,000 lump-sum bonus or 15 to 30 days of nonchargeable leave under a new overseas tour extension incentive program.
The incentive applies to airmen overseas who are scheduled to return to the U.S. on or after May 1, according to the Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.
Eligible airmen also may take 15 days nonchargeable leave and government-funded round-trip transportation from the overseas location to the nearest continental U.S. port, according to the personnel center."
All I asked was if your husband, who I knew was in the Air Force and not the Marines, the Army, Coast Guard, Boarder Patrol, or the non-armed uniformed services, was home permanently or on leave and you gave a snotty answer implying that the Air Force doesn't give leave to its airmen unlike any of the other armed services.
Deployments for Marines/Army = 12-18 months.
Deployments for Air Force = 6 months.
No, they don't give leave to AF when they are on deployments because they don't last long enough to give them leave. I believe in the military you need to be gone at least a year before you are allowed to take leave during a deployment to come home.
Oh, and PS, I don't know how many times I've stated this on these forums (and frankly I'm getting sick of having to repeat myself)...he's gone for 6 months. He left the end of July.

Started up a PvE ranger for reasons I can't quite remember. Got aggravated looking for runs in the off hours and got to thinking: Why not play Guild Wars the old fashion way? But then I remembered Factions and Nightfall (and EotN) basically get you to max armor and weapons in an hour or two regardless. Oh well.
Now the real question is; buy crappy Istan/Sunspear armor, or continue looking for runs from docks to the Forge for drake (looks better, cheap materials!), or even going nuts and aiming for elite druids at level-5ish. Woo!
LFR Dorks? (Isn't that what you're supposed to say? That's how I see it all the time.)

Now that's obscure. So obscure it's almost cheating.

Sorry. I'll get my coat...
That said, has anybody else ever entered "I say" or "Now see here boy" as their name in a video game? It makes a lot of the NPC dialogue seem like Foghorn.

Looney Tunes were great! And oddly, much more violent in some aspects than many kids cartoons now.
Hey, thanks for adding that Wikipedia link! I went to that and then did a look-up on Slowpoke. I never would have imagined that those two mice would be in Wikipedia and reading about them really brought back fond memories.

Has he done that too? I thought he always was just putting in inappropriate nicknames for Link. Changing character names for the sake of hilarity is something I've done in ages. Like putting in
Darth Revan
as your name in Knights of the Old Republic, Ganon in Link, and any other character in Deus Ex, making all the text news reports hilarious.
Why would you use "Darth Revan" for you character name in Kotor?
That's the name of the Sith lord that mysteriously vanished...

Darn it! A Wii game!
I haven't owned a console since the original NES (Which I still have and it still works!) and now you're telling me I may be forced to buy one just to play games! ARRGGHH!
Thanks for the info Tom, I will seriously have to look into buying a Wii, there are just too many neat games for it for me to ignore anymore!
Wow, your NES still works? That's awesome. I think our SNES still works aside from a messed up power cord, but I'd have no idea where to find it, or the games for it.
Besides, I have a Nintendo DS anyway. And a computer, I can just use emulators for games that haven't been DS-ported.

You'd probably need to buy another SNES off someone, if you ask me. Not ideal, like, but it does mean you have a spare SNES if the 1st one packs in completely.
That, or chop the plug off and replace it if it's a case of cable damage close to that end. Then again, I know next to nothing about Canadian plugs. :sealed:
The cord detaches from the SNES.. The messed up bit is at the end near the outlet, just underneath the brick. I remember we were wiggling it around and it came on, but the cord was being held straight upward, so we had to tape it right onto the brick.. Then it worked fine.
But I don't have any desire to actually play SNES anyway. Emulation's fine for me if I ever get the urge to play Megaman X/X2/X3 again.

Ebay is a great place to find NES and SNES games. Also, if you have a local gaming shop like Game Exchange (we have one, and it has NES games all the way to PS2/Xbox games...plus movies and CD's, oh, and don't forget card games like Magic).
You might also be able to find parts you need to fix your NES or SNES on Ebay. A lot of NES's just need a new connector pin to be able to play like new again.
Wow, Magic. There's a nostalgia trip, I haven't played that since high school. I was terrible at it. I remember one time my friend had a white deck, while I had black/green iirc. She put up three or four walls which I my creatures weren't strong enough to take down, then she killed me with a flying creature.
I was very low on the 'strategy' aspect of the game. Same reason why I'm terrible at Starcraft and Warcraft.

It was warm here. Near 60 or so. Cleaned and aired the house out between CoF runs. This weather is killing me, freezing one day, warm the next. Argh.
At least we're "consistent" cold now...we go from -20 to +20 from one day to the next. Today we just had "blizzard-like" conditions (just not the snow...don't think we got any new, just blew the old from last week around).

Still swaying after two days? Neat! I mean, irritating, but sounds kinda awesome too.
I want to hear all about your cruise. Do I have to track you down in game? *grins*

I can achieve the same results for a lot less money. All I need is a good (or bad) bottle of booze.

Shayta - I will do a massive blog post about it once I'm settled in. I'm still unpacking, ridiculously enough. So lazy. Plus, they lost one piece of luggage and I'll just be getting it back tonight. Gah.
Still swaying. I figured it might also be dehydration and low blood sugars, but I just ate a bunch and drank a lot and all that did is make me have to pee!
Maybe alcohol would cause me to sway in the other direction, thus equalizing my sense of balance?

I think about Dr. Pepper, pizza, chocolate and other good things, but not other video games. I am a faithful husband and a faithful GW player. I see good looking women everyday and I see ads for video games. I see this talk about Diablo, Wii, DSi (or whatever), but I don't flirt with those other women, not do I flirt with other video games.

I find this to be a funny catch-22. I'm hoping that the April update lands before or during my spring break so I can poke at it, but I'm also dreading it landing before or during my spring break because then I'll lose time. Waugh.
At least the new Dresden book is nice enough to come out during spring break!

You are a very angry man, Dom.
Domitilde
28-03-2009, 14:54
Real anger is thinking I am doing the Path of Revelation quest to get Kerrsh's staff, getting to the area and instead of finding him, I find someone else, and while there, get wave after wave of monsters assaulting me, kill them all, hang around wondering where Kerrsh is, only to discover that I still had Wintersday Cheer quest and this was the last part. So I completed that old quest (to which there is no reward since the NPC to see at EOTN is gone) and I had to restart the journey again to do the quest I thought I was originally doing. That is anger, and I took it out on every monster I saw. I spared none. I was a vivid killing machine. Monsters will be telling horror stories about me to their children for decades.

I had a strange experience with my PC Tuesday night - I couldn't connect to the Vent server. I could see it was up and others were using it. I usually leave my PC on 24/7 but decided to shut it down for the night. When I got home after work last night, again, couldn't connect to Vent and also, MSN wouldn't connect. GW worked as did my browsers. Nothing had been installed. I did a system restore back to Sunday the 26th and then Vent and MSN worked. How strange, I say, how strange indeed.
I watched Death Proof. And while I cannot hope to accurately describe how bleh it was on a PG-forum, I can look on the bright side and know that I'll never be tempted to watch it ever again.
But, you win again, Tarantino. You've stolen another 2 hours of my life in return for nothing more than the same self-satisfying dialog (in new ghetto-spice flavor) and ego stroking cameos. /shakefist.
