Basically that is all i am asking.

Can it only be done if I have Pal privileges?

Thanks.

ImageShack® (http://imageshack.us/) does it automatically when you upload.

For one-time images, such as screenshots, use Imageshack, like the above poster said.

However, if you're referring to a signature image, no you cannot do that.
No images in the signature.

Just in case the other answers didn't fully cover your question, here's how you link to the image in your post...

{IMG}http://www.myserver.com/mypath/mypicture.jpg{/IMG}

...replacing the '{ }' brackets with the '[ ]' tag brackets.

Once you have the image hosted, which noggecia gave you a suggestion for, make note of the address. You don't need to be a PAL to include images, and you can include up to five in one post. Smileys count as images and as Wandalf said, no image signatures here. :happy34:

I understand not hosting picture sigs, but can link to off site sigs like this?

If not, where can I find where to input a text sig? I can't find that option in my profile.

Thx

Signatures have been enabled for PAL's, members who have donated to the site. We're not requiring you to donate; it's just a small thank you to those who do.

As a result, we tend to limit even what PAL's can put in their signatures. They must be kept managable. They can contain links, but no images.

:soapbox:
Why do you limit the use of images in sigs?

Also it seems documentation of this is not very good. I (like many others) couldn't find anything about sigs until I searched this forum and this was the only post about not allowing images. Unfortunately for me (good for you) I found out about the no images in sigs after I'd already donated $ to get sig access. :banghead:

The sig image I wanted was this:
http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/0/djmookerz.png (http://profile.xfire.com/djmookerz)

Because it helps with building a social gaming network (like this forum )

You could just, you know... put your xfire name in your signature. We already know you play GW.

i don't just play GW, plus the lil stat tracker is cool (well I think it is)

Loading images takes time and bandwidth, especially for those on lower speed connections. It also clutters up the page. The site admins have decided that the benefit of images in signatures would not outweigh the cost in simplicity/resources, and thus have decided not to allow it.

blah. i want everyone to do what i want because everyone should cater to my needs!!!! :P

seriously tho, the site documentation should be clearer on this issue.

Of that, I'm truly thankful. I don't have bandwidth problems per se, but loading images from 21435+n places sometimes takes ages when you live here in the north (miles up from Ascalon ). (Which was one of my main reasons to upgrade to SilverPAL membership in the first place, byebye stoopid year-loading ad-banners )
