The Daggers!

So far, every pic I have seen of an assasin the weapons in its hands have been "daggers" also known as necro blood idols...I really hope that those are just for when they dont have really cool models for them. Anyone else notice/concerened about this?

Well I would guess its supposed to be a dagger considering its an idol in his right hand

my mistake if im wrong.... aint the axe held in the right hand ??, aint the swords held in the right hand... aint the staffs ect ect held in the right hand, i always thought idol's were held in your left hand on game :S

to me the "dagger" in the pic is a necro focus item. and like Major Smitey said, it is in the left hand, which can offer support to this hypothesis.

we will have to wait till friday to see them cool daggers in action :laugh:

Just as Warriors can equip focus and wand, that Assassin may be holding a focus and a wand?

You can't really speculate just by looking at the picture without any other supporting evidence.

heh i hope assasins can dual weild swords or use like 1hand sword 1 hand dagger. But really think of all the people that are gonna be spamming WTS UBER DAGGER MAX 100k and also the annoying WTS UBER DAGGER 40k when its really a white dagger with 2damage..

Since my main char is a Necro and I'm boredly collecting rare skins it does indeed look like a Necro Idol I have..You can also get one like that in pre-searing..

Since assassins can dual-wield, are they able to put daggers on any hand they want? If so, maybe the right hand of that assassin is holding an idol and in his left a dagger. But then again, you can't really see the left hand of the assassin in that picture.

perhaps thats an early shot, remember what GW's early early shots looked like? worse than WoW, and that could very easily be a hold in place item at the time the shot was made...

BTW I'm sure there will be different styles of daggers so if you don't like the look of one you can spend hours farming for that uber 1337 crystaline dagger skin :wink:

It's a posibility that they maybe Bone Daggers?!?

EDIT: Also I think daggers comes in pair, so you can't use a dagger in one hand and a focii on the other.

The weapon lists on pvp characters have been updated, it includes the ritualist and assassins weapons for the weekend.

So you can see some of the pvp 'daggers' (also includes kukri and sai)...

Kukris, Sais, and Butterfly Daggers.
Their max damage is 7-17, require Dagger Mastery, and come in pairs as sets ("Both Hands", like bows, hammers & staves).
Kukris and Sais do Piercing damage, Butterfly Daggers do slashing damage.

I can confirm beyond a doubt that that is indeed a dagger, it has the exact same model as the Orge Slaying Knife my character possesses, except it isn't dyed black.

oh my :shocked: , do you seriously not see the sai in each of his hands? the yellow blob is not a weapon - the thin twin spikes extending from his hands forward in the direction of both of his arms, those are weapons. very thin, but impossible to miss if you're looking for weapons... especially dual-wielded! :grin: :rolleyes:

You dual wield weapons that come in pairs. You equip them like a two handed weapon, but you can only do off hand and dual attacks when you're using a weapon pair (2x knives, 2x sai, etc) This is how it works, for real.
