View Full Version : Planned Expeditions

The Boz
20-02-2006, 11:19
I wanted to make a sort of a sign-up thread about organised epeditions. If you have something planned, post it here. The information to be posted if you are organising an expedition should include your the areas you plan to visit and the general goal of the expedition in addition to the sign-up information. If you're signing up for a planned expedition, post your IGN, timeframe and available classes. The purpose of it is to have as much conversation and brainstorming in-game, with the evidence easily reachable. I'll start:
1. In about three or four days time, I would like to take another trip to the desert, namely the Arid Sea, Salt Flats and Diviner's Ascent. The goal is to collect as many pictures of skeletons and remains, as well as analyze the ruins of the ancient civilization. My main IGN is Bozos Of Bones, and I can bring either a Necromancer, Mesmer, Warrior or Elementalist, and I can log in and do this in the european afternoons, GMT from 17 onward, till 1 or 2 in the morning.

I, Garumn Darkslayer would apply to this expedition, I want to study the old scolls of wisdom lying around the desert...

teh Monkeys
20-02-2006, 17:00
I'll tag along, since I wanna compile a map of all the locations of the skeletons in the desert, and eventually all of Tyria. I have a monk, warrior and necromancer. Pick one.

I live in Holland so that's GMT + 1. Can log on from.. I'd say about 5 in the afternoon till.. very late.

IGN is The Rastapoppolis. (Or Wall Hax, since people appear to have problems spelling my name :p)

Depending on the day, i could lend a hand.

I have two char that have full armor and skills (still working on other two)
Ign: Lazarus Dio Necro
Yulia Alexandros Warrior

Set a date ahead of time and I can give a more definate answer.

I'll join since I've been through those areas already and know roughly where the giant bones are as well as structures.

IGN: Malhavoc Adhamar R/-

I'm usually online most days anywhere between 7am - 2am GMT. Except Thursdays and possibly Fridays.

Longasc
20-02-2006, 23:06
I am European too, and I have semester break. I can be online the whole day if you want.

If you do not need me, I will start Civilization IV and play the Elonian Race.

I can bring a Warrior, Elementalist, Monk or Ranger.
IGN: Sir Longasc, most likely online as Anastasia Kerensky.

Well, there's six of you applying for this, and the desert only supports teams of 6. So, who here can make it tomorrow, at around 20 GMT(30 hours from now)?
P.S. I am most glad that this thread actually worked :D Hope to see more planned expeditions in the future, to sign up and go adventuring!

Lazarus Dio
21-02-2006, 15:03
Do you mean Wednesdday the 22nd? I willl be unable to participate in this little trek. Keep me in mind for future expeditions though!

The Boz
22-02-2006, 15:33
Sorry you couldn't make it, Lazarus.
The gathering starts in about 4 and a half hours, I'd recommend Destiny's Gorge as the meeting place, International District 1.

I aviable to expeditions on evenings (EU)

I can bring in:

Necromancer (Catti Czech Brie)
Messmer (Elizabeth Faith)
Ranger (Augusting Cauchy)
Warrior (Bruntokapi Acoma) ...

Malhavoc Adhamar

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make it as well. I've got training to get to at 8pm. Sorry.

I will be there. With one of my chars, I can switch as need arises.

Scott the Green
23-02-2006, 03:02
If I'm online, I'll likely be up for just about anything. All characters have every outpost up to and including the desert, and the warrior and necromancer can go anywhere in Tyria.

My online times are a bit erratic, so I can't predict when I'll be available

Longasc
23-02-2006, 07:48
Nobody was there yesterday besides me an Bozos.

He said he will post the exact date next time. Maybe this will work better.

The Boz
23-02-2006, 12:05
The expedition scheduled for last night failed miserably, as you may already know. Sir Longasc and I were the only ones that came, and it wasn't fun enough to be doing it with henchmen. So, now I'll start posting by GMT(relative) dates and countdown times in bold. The next expedition should be tried tomorrow, on the 24th of February, in 20:00 GMT, or 32 hours from now. Please post if you won't be able to show up, don't just not show up.

Garumn
23-02-2006, 12:44

For me it's just much better if you whisper me in the game and see if I'm available.

The Boz
24-02-2006, 00:36
I did. You weren't.
OK, it might be cutting it short, but I think we can cover it in one hour, if we take 5 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes per area.

Longasc
24-02-2006, 09:02
I will be there.

For all those who have problems to find out which time it is at their homes at 20.00 GMT:

The personalized world clock is a great help. For me it is simple anyway, as I live in GMT+1 I just have to add one hour. But I still love the personalized world clock of this website.

The Expedition was great fun, and the results were interesting. I hope Bozos posts a full report.

We saw two major construction sites of Towers in the Salt Flats, as well as a statue of the dragon Glint or a lookalike.

I got the idea all those elephant bones (I assume they were elephants because of the tusks!) are there because they aided in the construction of these towers. Stone blocks must be moved from the quarry to the site. But we found carved out stone always near the build site.

There is also the question how much of the desert was under water - and which part was land. Somehow I wonder why the elephant skeletons were in the area I would have supposed to have been under water.

Near Elona there was a field with many pillars -> the southern one was particularly interesting: the middle pillar was cracked and much lower than the other ones, plus there were no runes on it, while all others had the glowing runes. On a sidenote, always the same rune on all four sides.

This was my short report. Screenshots will perhaps follow.

I am pleased to say that this expedition was a success in every single way. We got togethere, adventured, explored, had fun, and did a little bit of brainstorming of ideas along the way. The entire expedition took about three and a half hours to complete, and for the most part, there were 6 of us, until one had to leave just before we hit the Arid Sea.
During the expedition, I took about 50 or so pictures, these are the highlights.

The Pillars(of Creation :p)
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/296/cross0pj.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
These are the Pillars found in the cross. The two behind are whole, and have glowing runes. It is the same with two pillars on all four sides, but the center pillar is broken, and without glowing runes. Upon further inspection we have found that all broken pillars lack the glowing runes at their base. Also, the middle one is in somewhat sunken ground, as if it depicted something being burried below it, something large, like a vault. North of the cross is a place with seven pillars in a curve, with five pillars being whole and one at each side being broken. That area is also sunken.

In the next area, Salt Flats, there were a couple of interesting finds.
http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/7348/arc6hu.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This type of arch is visible a few times in the area, mainly it depicts entrances to something we called Building Sites. We already know that they held griffons in high esteem, as some kind of holy animals(Sacred Griffon of Amnoon for example). Maybe their economy revolved on farming them? :p
http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/461/site13pu.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This is the first building site. You can see the camps around it, but all evidence of construction has been removed.
http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/2924/site22gx.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This is the second building site. It shares several similarities with the first, the camps are around it, the central area is in a hightened position and it is devoid of all construction. We believe that they have planned, or have once built towers on these places, but those towers are no longer here. However, there are several downed towers and destroyed pieces of wood around the area.

On to part 2 of the Expedition...

The Boz
25-02-2006, 19:20
The Desert Expedition part 2

http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/1967/tusked3yd.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This is a creature that we have speculated to be involved in construction of the towers, or the monolithic pillars. But the following picture has interesting connotations.
http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/5307/tuskeds7gt.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
What would it take for two of these Elephantoid(that's how we started calling them) creatures to die in the same place so close to each other, in roughly the same pose, facing the same direction. Human intervention? They either killed, or brought the bodies to the same place, but I doubt that. They are facing west, towards the sea. Maybe some kind of disaster that killed them?

Also, we found a statue of Glint, or something resembling Glint. The odd think about it, is the runes.
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/2617/glint3th.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
You can see thy are symmetrical from the middle line to both sides. That is, well, wierd to say the least. Speaking of wierd scriptures...

On to part 3 of the Expedition...

25-02-2006, 19:25
The Desert Expedition part 3

http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/9030/there9tn.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This sign is at the entrance to the devastated town in the Arid Sea. The sign has 3 arms, all pointing in a different direction, but saying the same thing. After intense thinking, we have concluded that the sign means either "Toilet", "Exit" or "Sand". Either that, or the Elonians might have an alphabet who's meaning depends on the way the word is facing. One of the explorers compared this to the programming language "brainf*ck", to an extent.

Also, there is a second city to the north, through the area point.
http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/8133/town27cn.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
But, since we have found two craters in the first town, one long and one circular, that may point to some kind of event that devastated the towns, or devastated the middle of one town, and what we see now are actually two suburbial parts of the same town.

And finally, does anyone think this helm looks familiar?
http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/5706/helm2vz.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

I hope you make the best of our research in your respective fields of study, and I hope there will be many more expeditions springing up to uncover the lore of Tyria.

So, does anyone here have any ideas on the new expeditions? I'd personally like to do either a world-wide run to cover all the temples, shrines and what-not, or a trip down to Kessex.

Okay, after a week of trying to get organized, I'm no closer to having any idea of how to go about getting an expedition off the ground. And so, I turn to you, the community, for help.

The goal of this expedition will be to search the bonus area of The Wilds for banners. the banners we will be searching for are red and bear a six-pointed emblem outlined in black.

It is my contention that these banners belong to the Maguuma centaurs, and this expedition should help to confirm or refute my hypothesis.

I'm not sure when the best time to do this will be, so if you are interested, please sign up with what time zone you are in and when you're normally online. If you're like me and have an erratic schedule, please tell me so we can work something out.

Scott the Happy -

May I suggest something. As you encounter centaurs in the Wilds, observe their armor.

I noticed this off a centaur group from the Desert...

[img=http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/6714/desertcentaur25dl.th.jpg] (http://img75.imageshack.us/my.php?image=desertcentaur25dl.jpg) [img=http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/3172/desertcentaur1rg.th.jpg] (http://img75.imageshack.us/my.php?image=desertcentaur1rg.jpg)

Note emblems on their armor. It could be just decorative or it could be their symbol. Just a thought.

Okay, I did some math, and it seems like the timing won't allow us all to go. Now I've worked out two potential times:

a) 4:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (9:00 pm GMT, 3:00 pm CST)
on Wednesday, March 8, 2006.

b) 9:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (8:00 pm CST, 6:00 pm PST)
on Wednesday, March 8, 2006.

Option (a) will allow the participants from the UK to join, but will leave out anyone west of me. Option (b) does the opposite. I have no idea what time zone the Asian Pacific is, so sorry Ranger Bob, I couldn't accurately calculate which group you'd best fit into.

I thought about doing it somewhere in the middle, like around 7 EST (midnight GMT), but that way it looked like nobody would be able to make it.

I'm happy either way, so I leave it up to you to decide. And hey, I'm not opposed to doing it twice. We might catch something on the second run we missed on the first.

I hope this will give everyone enough time to decide and commit.

-- level 17 Mo/W (approximate; might level up soon) (has access up to THK)
-- levle 17 E/N (or something close-Don't play much) (ascended -- up to Ice Caves)

I'm planning an expedition into the Tombs of Primeval Kings in order to better document situations concurrent to those happening in Cantha.

Because of the nature of the Tombs as a high difficulty level PvE arena, this is not a expedition for the meek or unskilled. We will need not only dedicated researchers but also highly skilled PvE players.

If there is anyone with large amounts of experience in playing the Tombs, I would appreciate if you would lend your services to TAOS as a guide for this expedition.

If interested, please follow posting procedure in this thread and we will organize a good time.

I will be running as my usual interuption domination build mesmer/ranger, unless someone with experience suggests I use something else.

It is possible to tell me what is the time for GMT +1:00? I am not very good at calculating these things :( just give me a PM or an Email (kahoopang@gmail.com) Thank you in advance.

Quintus Antonius

Well, if EDT is -5, and you want +1, just add 5 to the original number, then add one more.

So, 7+5+1 = 1 AM. I guess that is a bit late for you, so if that is a problem, please tell us what times are good for you and we can work with that. My suggested times are by no means set in stone, they were just a place to start.

I see. Well I have strict rules which I must follow at home :(. So I can be online (Monday to Friday) from 12:00 to 17:00 (GMT +1:00) and 21:30 to 00:00 (GMT +1:00).

Hey Guys,

Don't know whether this should be posted here, but I'll offer to go on an expedition, however, because of my location and current disruptions, I'll probably head in with my guild sometime next week (Its a joy being in an all Aussie PvE guild - there are many good players).

So, if someone could PM me with what you need, I will get as much of it as possible (the guild is bored of Factions without end-game quests much like the Titan quests, so I'll probably be able to head in next week once I have internet access again.)

I wish you guys luck on your expedition, and will try to contribute as much as I can.

well i cannot make any times past about 8:00PM BST, 7:00PM BST purley because i cannot be on the computer much past 9:00PM BST. i would suggest mabey a morning event on a saturday or sunday american time, with that then being early/late afternoon in Europe.

Quintus Antonius
02-07-2006, 19:31
Alright, well the event ends on the 5th, so perhaps we could shoot for the following Saturday around 1 PM Eastern, which is around 6 GMT, or 7 GMT +1.

On another note, I'd like to get a team of three together to do the new quests that are appearing, and we have to do it soon, as the event ends in 3 days. If you are interested, please post here, but keep in mind that it will probably be sometime tonight or tomorrow, so if you aren't North American, it may be hard unless you can come at 1 or 2 AM in GMT or something.

I am on EST and I'll be able to join up for the new stuff from the Captain Rujiyo. My IGN is Volitar Aurelianus and I'll be on this evening EST. I can bring a Monk, Ele, Ranger, Mesmer, Necromancer or Ritualist. I hope we can complete this; I saw some new monsters and I would like to investigate them more.

That's fine, real life comes first, Qwon, I'm sure we can find someone else.

Anyway, that means we need one more person for our expedition. Please submit an application if you want to come.

I would be happy to go, all though I'm not sure I can make it unless I get an exact time... Anyway, my IGN is Zayren Seou, and I can play most any build for a N, any Rt build, healing monk, decent W, and nuker.

Can everyone make it around 8 PM tonight? That's about 3 and a half hours from now.

02-07-2006, 21:32
8 PM sounds good to me, but, I think I might be a little late, I'm going out to eat at 6:30. Would you mind waiting a little while? I should be home around 8, but if I'm not, you know where I am.

Quintus Antonius
02-07-2006, 22:31
Alright, so we are on for tonight at 8 PM. Instead of meeting directly in Shing Jea, because I have no idea how many active districts there will be, we will meet in International District 1 of the Marketplace (because I know there is bound to be no one there) and I will form the party, work out any character issues, and then transport us to Shing Jea Monestary.

It looks like it will be me, Gmr Leon, Volitar, and Zayren. We may have to launch a bit later because of Zayren's dinner plans, but that is understandable and perfectly okay.

Is this information correct/okay with everyone?

Volitar
02-07-2006, 23:40
Okay, got the information. I'll be there at 8pm on my monk named Licinia Vitoricus.

Quintus Antonius
04-07-2006, 01:21
Yesterday, Volitar, Zayren, Gmr Leon, and myself did a very successful mission run. However, it does not appear that Volitar can make it tonight, which means we need one more person to even out our party.

We are aiming for a 10PM launch tonight, that is about two hours from now, for those who aren't in the Eastern Timezone. If you want to come, please post your information here, but do it quickly.

At 10, Zayren, Gmr Leon, and I will be meeting at the Marketplace Int. D1. Please decide quickly, we need one more person.

Volitar
04-07-2006, 02:21
I can make it for 10PM. Sorry I didn't make it earlier. I was actually there at 8pm, but nobody else was there. Then unfortunatly my net went down for a bit. Sorry about that.

Quintus, this was for the Tomb of The Primeval Kings correct? Seeing as to how I've been up till about 3 now I may not log in till 1 or 2 so if you can do wait for me. Team of 8:
Monk 1 (healing):
Monk 2 (prot/healing):
Mesmer (interruption): Me
Warrior:
Ritualist (Spirit Support):
Ranger (Trap or Barrage):
Necromancer (SS or MM):
Miscellaneous support class (anything):

I'm not the most experienced with the ToPK, but this is a balanced team for any PvE area, if changes to that set up are necessary, please inform me. Otherwise, claim the spots, first come first serve.

Official TAOS Information Gathering Expedition: Tomb of Primeval Kings
Expedition Scheduled for Wednesday, July 26th at 8:00PM EDT (GMT -5)

Team of 8:
Filled (5/8):
Mesmer (interruption): Quintus
Necromancer (SS or MM): Leon
Monk 1 (healing): Volitar
Miscellaneous support class (anything): fang (necro MM)
Warrior: shadow the hero
Open (3/8):
Monk 2 (prot/healing):
Ritualist (Spirit Support):
Ranger (Trap or Barrage):

We don't want an over abundance of warriors, as anyone that has played the Tombs can tell you, rushing in draws aggro. The warrior's primary function here will be to guard the monks and casters from the aggro the ranger will draw. The warrior will not engage first, as pop-up enemies tend to swarm a foot soldier warrior. So I hope you can follow my logic as to why I don't want two or five warriors.

By that same logic, we shouldn't have too many necromancers either, as they require corpses to exploit, for the most part, and a competition for corpses weakens both necro's overall damage and support output power.

To Kyolin: Can you use a protection healing build? You know, a build that uses primarily Protection Prayers with skills such as SoJ that heals and protects, and also moves like Rebirth to get dead allies out of aggroing mobs. That is what we need.

To anyone who doesn't have a spot: Be flexible, we still have two spots, possibly three, to fill. If you don't get a spot, show up at the time and place as well, maybe you can form a second expedition team, or maybe someone won't show up, or will cancel, and we'll have an opening. If you can't get a spot this time, don't worry, there will be other expeditions.

Santax
25-07-2006, 16:44
I can be a Barrage Ranger. I've B/P'd in every mission past the Eternal Grove in Cantha, and past D'Alessio Seaboard in Tyria. I've also been to UW, FoW, Urgoz's Warren and Tombs with my B/P build.

EDIT: I'm GMT, and 1am is too early, nevermind.

Quintus Antonius
25-07-2006, 17:12
Sorry to hear that Santax. It'd have been nice to have you.

EDIT: We need those three spots filled by tomorrow, or we can't launch. If you have friends or guildmates that are interested in a expeditionary research mission, then feel free to invite them if we have not filled those spots. Remember, the object of this is to gather information that may shed light on the Chaos Forces we will be facing in Chapter 3, as well as to learn more about one of the most mysterious places in the Mists. This is not a farming mission, but any loot you aquire is yours to keep.

EDIT II: I'm also going to need in-game names of the people coming along, so I know who you are when we meet at the designated meeting location.

Kyolin
25-07-2006, 17:22
My monk is healer only, my any attempts on my part at prot failed miserably. I suppose I can be a secondary healer, but other then her and my main warrior, only my assassin can get to the Tomb.

Quintus Antonius
25-07-2006, 17:27
What about you, Volitar? Can you run protection healing? If we can't get one, two raw healers are better than none, or one, so it's not a big deal ,but I'd like to see a protection healer.

If we can't get a protection healer, it will make the Support Spirit Ritualist even more of a critical role to fill, keep that in mind. However, if we do get a SupSpir Ritualist, we may be fine with two raw healers, as the Rt's spirits can work in protection with blind, and damage reduction/displacement spirits.

In an attempt to learn more about similar circumstances to those of the Chaos Portals which have been appearing around Tyria, in both Tyria and Cantha, as well as the Hall of Heroes and Underworld, I am putting together an expedition into the Dragon's Gullet of Ascalon to complete the Titan Source quest.

After the work you did protecting the cities of Tyria, I believe you are most capable of completing this task and ending the Titan threat. Warmaster Labofski has sent scouts into the northlands to identify the Titan's source of power. Travel to Grendich Courthouse and speak with him."

I'll take the SS spot Quintus. Is EDT similar to that of EST? (I'm not wonderful with time zones.)

I'd like to join with my Ranger, who specializes in interrupts and can bring Winter and any other Ranger functions as needed.

Also, to anyone that wants to attend: You need not have the quest in question here. If you have completed it before, or you simply do not have it, you are still more than welcome to come to support our effort. As we are going as a research group, not solely for the purpose of completing the quest, having the quest is not a condition of accompanyment.

Glad to be of help to your research. I wish my guild could be into this kind of activity, questing for fun.

We still a healing monk. Needless to say, that is crucial. Also, I expect anyone who signed up to show up, unless there is an emergancy or unforeseen expectation that prevents it. If you think you won't be able to come, please back out now, so we don't all get to Yak's Bend and sit there waiting for you to never show. Real-life comes first, so don't feel pressured to come if you feel you won't be able to, I just think the rest of us have a right to know in advance.

The expedition last night was a success. We were one man short, as Zayren never showed, but we still managed to get to the Dragon's Gullet with no real problems.

Just before we were about to engage the final three Titan bosses, I was pounded by a horrible lag spike and becamed error=7ed. However, the rest of the group managed to complete the expedition.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it, HUGE thunderstorms in my area and we lost power for a little while...

I would like to start up an expedition to explore the depths of the underworld, in order to see any connections to Dhumm and the coming chapter.

The importance of this is to look at the monsters in the underworld, the quests, and to explore the quests in the very end.

I would suggest only the most experienced players join on this expedition, and each person must have hours and hours of extra time. I have heard of the final quest in the end of the entire area-defeating the "queen". I truely hope we can gather information about this "queen" and understand more about Grenths land.

Since I'm going to be buisy this weekend, I'm hoping that Quintus Antonious would lead the group.

I'm tempted to have a 55 and an SS go split off from the main party-to defeat another branch of the enemies alone. They would defeat the Attaxes, smites, graspings, ect.

The other 6 would run a standard build:
Warrior/Assassin(Dolyaks Sig, riposete, recall)
Warrior(Dolyaks Sig, glads defense)
Ritualist(Shelter!, ritual lord, union, ect)
Elementalist(echo nuker with meteorshower, not firestorm)
Monk 1 (Healing)
Monk 2 Bless/ prot

My IGN is: Blue Cheez, if you have any ideas for doing this expedition-feel free to post your comments.

I'd be happy to help you with your expedition, and I think it's a good idea as well.

I'd love to lead the group, but I'm afraid, while I can sponsor this expedition, I won't be able to lead. I'm not entirely familiar with the UW. I've only been there once, and I don't want to lead into something I am unexperienced with when I'm sure there are people here more qualified. Also, I'm a mesmer, and only a mesmer, so there doesn't even look like there is a place for me on the team. If one develops, I'd be happy to come, otherwise, I'm not sure what I can do to help.

Still, I encourage others to join up on blue's expedition here. I think it will be fun and most informative.

P.S. If Not I can understand. :)

I could play the support spirits Rit, as usual, IGN Zayren Seou. And about the SS and 55, the 55 would become a dead weight after a point, the spirits of Nature's Renewal would make a 55 null and void, and then the Chaos Planes (biggest area of the Underworld) has a ton of enchant stippers, so I do not think the 55/SS idea is a wise choice... But an SS would help, more likely than not.

I like the idea of this expedition. I can go either with my monk or my ele. (I could also go with my warrior but I haven't played with him in the UW for quite some time now).

Could you plz post when and what time would the expedition take place?? (I won't be able to log on to GW till somewhere near 9 o'clock PM GMT+1, so I can't msg you in-game).

What server would this expedition be on? I recently switched to Europe since most of my guildies and allies are on Europe and Europe always has favor. However, if America has favor we can go to the UW from the statue in Lornars Pass from an Intl Dist.

I'm up for an Underworld trip though. I would like to go as a Monk since that is what I am most comfortable with. However, I can also go as a Mesmer, Ele, Ranger or Warrior.

I'd love to come but I've got an important exam coming up, so I'll have to reserve judgement on whether I can make it.

I've got a Monk who's done both though; she normally plays Prot/Healing.

it would be better to run a 660 instead of a 55 if you're going to go with a set of dualers. however, I still think it's not that good of an idea.

Aside from that, I would love to monk for it (any build required) though I can also bring an El, Nec, or Mezzy since Zay is good with the ritting. Any idea when the expedition is going to take place?

Hi all now you may either see this as something seriouse and if not just take it as a joke.

Now we all have some questions concerning the Lore of the game and its "Expansions" and there are some very mysteriouse areas in the game itself. For example a series of portals in the Crystal Deser that dont work or the buildings in the Maguuma Jungle ( who built them? they dont look krytan at all ) and last but not least a question of a certain person who may haunt us through the rest of the entire game: GWEN! I plan on starting an archelogical team that will travel to any of these mysteriouse sites and eventually unlock the mystery behind these places.

Now this is the introduction and i hope you had a good laugh  . If you take this seriouse then please read on.

We will be needing the following:
1. A runner that can take us to the certain places if needed.
2. Very skilled fighers unless we are fighting in some normal starter area ( for example if we want to study charr culture in the flame corridor)
3. People who know alot about the GW lore

Now who says we COULD do this yes or no?
Note: I dont have to lead any of these expeditions i am just suggesting it and if anyone here wants to lead feel free to do so.

I'd be up for an underworld Expedition and while this doesnt seem all that offensive of a build it should be able to keep us alive through clearing the underworld. I could donate a good 5 hours on a weekend to do it.

I say we use
1.W/N Axe Grenths Balance
2.Renewal Fire ele(or ranger)
3.Barrage Ranger(FW)
4.Barrage Ranger(Winnowing)
5.Barrage Ranger
6.B-light mo/me(inspired and revealed)
7.Woh mo/me(inspired and revealed)
8.Bonder or Prot Rit

The enchants would become a problem when you get to the chaos planes.
The spirits might die to rapidly against aatxes.
But overall Im thinking the rit would be better
One more thing this would take a long amount of time and require decent coordination, so i want everyone to be on vent. And I think i should play warrior because I would trust my pulling better than others. We can use my guild's vent or my ex-guilds vent if we must.

Sorry if i see a bit demanding I'm new to this thread and I'm familiar with the Chaos Planes and the Spider Area.
Vent is a free download and I want you all to be able to hear me so i can tell you guys how we'd run this.
Oh and the warrior more or less acts like a 55/BP pet and would need the blight to take guardian instead of Rof

I know its been almost a year since anyone has posted in this section, but this seemed the most logical place for me to post my plans for making a beastiary on species found in the Guild Wars Universe. that being said, however, I am in the army and currently deployed, so I have quite a few demands on my time and progress may be quite slow at times. Basicly my life consists of missions and GW at this point in my life. In any case, any help on such a project would be appreciated if anyone is into that sort of thing.

Gmr Leon

Could you provide any more information on what you were wanting to do? A bestiary of tamable animals? Or of tamable and non-tamable? Would you like it to include even the sentient races? A little more information would help any interested in assisting you.

Joseph Mckennie
01-07-2009, 13:21
I was thinking more along the lines of the non-tamable animals, though I could include those too. I wouldn't mind including sentient races also, though most of them already have a lot of lore posted about them already. So its really just a matter of getting all that information in one place. For now though I think I'll try to gather any useful or interesting information on non-tameable animals and try to make a decent classification system for them.

Konig Des Todes
01-07-2009, 16:11
By non-tamable animals, do you mean things like the moss spider and non-targetable animals? Or do you mean like skales, gargoyles, elementals - similar to the section of the Prophecies manuscripts where it mentions the hostile wildlife. Which actually includes 3 cultured and semi-cultured races, and some tamable animals.

I'll be willing to help, though animals are not really my forte in the lore. I think what you should do is to create a format for how you want the pages to be like, or a list of info you want. Then it would be easier to get help from others, as they could just fill in the gaps for what you cannot get/do, then you compile everything.
