View Full Version : Unyielding Aura bug
I'm pretty sure this skill is bugged, even though hardly anyone uses it. I was playing around with it a for a few matches in CA, and I noticed that if I died after casting UA on someone else, that person did not die. But I think that person should die as well, because it counts as me not maintaining the enchantment anymore. I also saw another monk use this skill, and right before I could strip it with my mesmer, the monk who casted it died and UA went away on that person.

This was originally discussed a while ago, and I can confirm it, which I did in this thread (http://forums.gwonline.net/showthread.php?p=3762716). I ended up bug reporting it, but nothing's come of it, so I figured it was possible that this was intended. It sure shot my idea of a super-chained Death Nova right to hell...
I posted this about 2 months ago, and reported it to anet... havn't thought much of it since then. I'd wager they had to leave it alone until after the GWWC, maybe it'll be fixed in the upcoming skill-rebalance.
I don't think its a bug, if it is and its changed, the skill becomes even more useless. It's already very easy to remove in PvE in most area's, making its use limited. In PvP any possible future build involving it would become unusable before its even been tried.
I think the name itself suggests that it should continue to work this way. If the monk dies the Aura does not yield
The Dictonary term for yield is
To give up one's place, as to one that is superior: yielded to the chairperson
Something that killed the monk is superior, to lose the effect on the monk's death should have the skill renamed as yielding aura
2: refusing to give way or compromise; "unyielding determination"
I would consider having the monk killed, compromising. Upon his or her death the effect is unyielding.
Besides if they change it, a really cool monk I used to know until recently wont be able to use it as effectively on misbehaving players http://img419.imageshack.us/img419/8899/ssh1me.gif And that would spoil her fun :grin:
Sounds like a bug to me, so I will list this in my "Bugs&Flaws Summary"
