here it is, my "omg i'm a noob" question

Many of you are talking about this Assassin class like you've been playing it for months. Yet Factions isn't out yet. Is there a beta server out there I don't know about? Or all of you just dreaming about what you will do with you assassin? Seriously, many talk about how they use a chain of like 3 or 4 skills to take down a target uber fast. How do you know?

There was a beta weekend to test the 2 new classes, Assassin and Ritualist, a short while ago

THe beta pretty well laid out all the skills for the new professions. This let programs be released like GW Freaks where you can mess around with character creation.

Obviously the fine tuning of the build won't be completed until you actually play the character, but essentially you can start up any good build or combo on paper.

Calculating your damage from double strike and criticals gets pretty tricky for the assassin since your weapon has a pretty good spread on the damage. For every other class I can pretty well tell you from the build how much damage you will be doing per second, how many skills you can before you burn out of energy, and how effective you will be against some of the common metagame builds.

I've been using the boon / prot as my benchmark lately. If I make a character that can't solo a boon / prot I don't even run it.

THere's another Beta that will be happening on the 24th.

You can invite 3 additional friends to it if you want to make the weekend event a LAN party or something.

It was just great challenging all those Warriors to one-one combat then whacking them with spinning blade strikes and somersaulting double knife slashes! :cool:
