Wow, thanks to each and every one of you for your kind words. The team has been watching this thread and has enjoyed the appreciation.

The image sizes and stylized effects are intentional. However, I'll look into reducing the file sizes to improve the bandwidth without degrading the image quality. I can't promise anything at this point.

Also Episode 10 (http://www.geocities.com/shadowphae) is now online. It stars yours truly. w00t!

Thank you. We will keep up the work of unspecified quality.

Yes, henchman are difficult to work with. Although they are always punctual and work for modest union wages, they never read scripts, forget their lines and don't take stage direction. They've also been known to aggro the cattering crew from time to time, but that's showbiz...

Cogito puts considerable effort and deliberation into the final appearance of each episode. His style is evolving, but the bottom line is what looks best for each comic at the time. If, by chance, you're not completely satisfied, just wait--it'll change.

Haha, another great one! how long time do you usually use to make the hench stand as they should and do you often get frustrated by failing, if you fail at all?

Soul Echo
16-07-2006, 18:33
The henchies are extremely stubborn. They want to stand where they want to stand, and there is not much one can do about it, except backing them into a corner or against a rock and forcing them to be civil for a few seconds, before they bolt away again. It can take a long time to get the perfect shot. Sometimes, the perfect shot is impossible, so the story has to bend around pragmatics.

Maybe the wounded sunspears are too badly wounded to wrap their heads around the complex physics of map travelling.

...uh... Meta-physics, maybe. Or, do we fold the map when we travel from point A to uh - somewhere else?

Hmm, now I've managed to confuse myself. All I wanted to say was: "nice comic, it's good to see I'm not the only one that's used Koss in creative ways :D"

Cogito
17-01-2007, 08:57
I wasn't going to bring in an obvious game mechanic like map travel, but there's that kid in Champion's Dawn or wherever that explicitly tells you about map traveling in the game. I figure: if they can get away with this assault upon the willing suspension of disbelief in the game, why shouldn't we make fun of it?

As for Koss, that's a catharsis I've wanted to get off my chest of a long time. They force you to take him on so many missions and he's just a waste of a hero slot as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad I've finally gotten some of my chars past the point where we need to drag his sorry carcass all over the map just to make the NPCs happy. He makes a good flesh golem...that's about all I can say about him.

Not to be unfair, most of the heroes I leave in town while I take the prized three that I'm allowed to take. Because there is such fierce competition for those three precious slots, I have exceedingly high standards for who gets to follow me to glorious death.

If I were forced to take any of those unworthy, left-behind heroes on every single mission, I'd absolutely reserve the same special antipathy for that hero. However, it gets to be Koss...who really is a blowhard, after all :-P
