I don't have any issues with my current video card, but I'm thinking I need to upgrade before I won't find anything to upgrade to.

I have a gforge 4 4200 agp 128mb. What's a good card to upgrade to? I'd prefer something with a nvidia chip. Of course, agp is the limiting factor. I'd like to keep it to $120 or so(maybe that's more the limiting factor.)

The rest of the system is a AMD 64 3200, 2gb RAM, 120GB SATA HDD.

id say the GF 6600/6800 series.

the 6600 series has more cards in your price range.

AGP is a slowly dying technology though.

My motherboard doesn't have PCI express, so I want to get a good AGP video card to give it some more life. Is there any of the 6600 or 6800 cards that I should avoid?

Yes, avoid the 6600LE and 6800XT models. Always look for the regular or G* models.

Unfortunately the prices of AGP cards are still more expensive than their comparable PCIE counterparts, so you're best bet is probably a standard 6600GT such as this (http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=AS-N6600TD&c=pw).

To be completely honest though, I would save up as long as I could and just splurge on a 7800GS. If you aren't planning to upgrade your whole PC any time soon there's a good chance this will be the last big AGP card. They're $300 now, and if they are in fact the last breath of AGP then they'll only get more expensive as people hang on to their older systems. If it's at all an option, it's the most sensible solution.

If you could come to the dark side and take a look at ATI cards, alot of them are available in PCI-E AND AGP form, so you could get something that lasts longer.

Well, you'll want to check out NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com).

Leadtek 6600GT 128MB AGP - $139.00 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122206)

Sapphire Radeon 9800SE 128MB AGP - $70.00 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102587)

There's a bunch to choose from on that site. Great service too.

Are you saying one card would fit in either agp or pci express, or you can get one or the other?
