As the topic says: I cannot stay logged in. Every time I press "reply" it says I'm not logged in. Every time I make a post and try to send it, it says I'm not logged in. Same for every time I open new thread or move through any link inside the forum.

What makes this happen?

You need to allow cookies from the site to stay logged in.

Perhaps a brief overview of just how to allow cookies would be helpful, hmmm? I believe it is under, for IE, Tools/Internet Options/Privacy, but perhaps somewhere else as well.

It's safer if the cookies are allowed on a per site basis rather than globally. Using the trusted sites. For IE that is, Firefox has no such problems, because its not tied into the operating system cookies are relatively harmless and can't effect the system, FF is also easier to set allow/block for cookies, all within options. FF also lets you block cookies that aren't being set from the actual site. Which is safer because you can never trust what ads are playing, even on here. Course adblock solves that problem too.

Best bet is just to install Firefox, not cause its better blah blah blah, but cause its generally more secure than IE. So are the other browsers, since none of them are tied into the OS like IE is. And they have more options regarding cookies, downloads etc. and how to deal with them.

Sort of off-topic, but yeah...I actually like Internet Explorer except for that one major factor, which is that it's intimately tied in with the OS. I had some trouble a while back where I really would have liked to uninstall the browser and reinstall it, and of course with IE you can't do that.

I have Firefox installed as well, and use it sometimes, but I've noticed it's a bit of a CPU hog sometimes, especially when you have multiple tabs open. Perhaps I'll use it more often. IE is what I've got at work, though, and that's where I do most of my forumizing from.

Using FireFox and allowing all cookies from here and advertisers and problem still continues

Still searching for answers.

I don't have that problem here...which is a good freakin' thing, considering...but I just noticed earlier today that the same thing is happening with me on the Diabloii.net forums. Cookies are set properly; I can't even type a response without it telling me to log in, yet the members list shows me as being signed on. Fortuately for me, the Dii forums are just an occasional habit, unlike these GW forums.
