In the beggining I have amde alot of gold by selling Syp Assasin/Ritualist rune ;) You buy at 250 at trader and sell for 5-6k. ppl will buy them since you cannot buy from trader, unless you hit space bar very often until you have 1, and it get sold out in a sec :p

yes as of right now u can only get 4 different designs 2 1.5k (luxon or kurzick) designs and 2 15k designs (luxon or kurzick) but u can get different typs of armor... its like fow armor u can only get one look for each but u can get different types...

Or it's actuall FOW armor since it is roomered that you can play through prophecies campaign via assassin/ritualist and other classes after doing a few missions in Cantha. Atleast, that's what I got from FAQ on their main site.

Nice armor, too bad I'm a kurzick from this point on! Muahahaha. My favorite is still the Nightstalker armor though. I can't wait to get runes on my armor pieces.

EDIT: oh wait.. i just assumed that you didnt have to buy the "head item" in 15k cause currently you only have to do that for warrior, damn thats 400tanned, 40 steel and 80amber... and 75k. I've got enough gold to cover all this for several characters - but i like it when i find each of the crafting materials myself, and i imagine the traders might be out of stock when factions comes :sealed:

Am I the only one who thinks the materials needed may change before launch? Most of the core professions require different materials to get different bonuses. But the materials were the same for all of the different armor sets in the FPE.

Having said that I imagine the basic material, in this case tanned hides, will probably remain the same. With steel replaced by other rare crafting materials for the different bonuses. And of course amber and jadeite will be the ectos/shards equivelent for the 15k armors.

Hopefully there will be a lot more quests (especially repeatable ones) to earn faction points for your allied faction. (Did that sound strange to anyone else? lol) Otherwise the 15k armors will likely remain exclusive to people who PvP a lot.

Its possible that the materials will change, but i reckon they would have shown that in the event. Not to mention the separate communities they would develop. People with both games will have access to all materials, people with just 1 game will have access to half of the materials - this would unbalance the economy greatly, so if theres the same materials for both games everything is fine :P (Of course the rare materials are exceptions - i.e. amber, jadeite etc.)

I do not believe Amber and Jadeite will be the equivalent to Ectos and Shards, Amber + Jadeite are generally easier to obtain, and you need less of them (ignoring farming for ecto and shards). Its possible that amber + jadeite were added to prevent people getting 15k immediately, they will have to work for it a little.

If you merge accounts on factions then you have 6 characters, if you do the same quest on all 6 characters that rewards 1k faction a time - thats 6,000 faction quite easily, so faction in PvE shouldnt be a problem.

The armor leaves to much to the imagination. An assassin should be near naked, allowing them to move faster and reflect the damage they take.

I googled assassin image and found allot of near naked pictures with killer weapons. But I think Anet's style is more conservative.

I'll reply to this too, since contrary to what Deus said some posts up, this isn't 15k, it's ordinairy 1.5k Kurzick.

Assassin Canthan 15k, With my Shing Jea Gloves combo, and without(didnt die the original one), 15k mask is the same as 1.5k mask, dont buy it

The only male 15K armor I like is Canthan. The other ones are too overdone and not Assassin-like. Most of the female armor is great, though. (Except FoW :/ )

At current prices, a rough estimate would be a bit over 1 mil, depending on how material prices fluctuate as you aquire them. This is more expensive than FoW armor for the core professions since Assassins and Ritualists also have available obsidian headgear, which adds to the cost 15 ecto, 15 shards, 15k crafting, plus other materials.

120 ecto @ an average of 5k each = 600k
120 shards @ an average of 3k each = 360k
additional regular materials = around 10k
crafting cost = 75k

This is considering prices as they currently are, though I believe these prices will go back up to what they were very soon. I already saw ecto go up to 7k yesterday, so I suggest you hurry.

I bought FoW armor for my Necro when ecto was at around 10k each, before the price spike and eventual fall, so knowing what it's like, I'm really glad that I find the 15k Assassin armors so much better than Assassin FoW. That way I can focus my efforts and funds on a perfect dagger collection instead. :grin:

you hit the nail on the head, that's exactly why I'm getting the 15k cathan, it looks the coolest in my opinion too, without all the "power ranger" spikes sticking out of it, that's also why I like the obsidian armor though, it's just a black suit with plenty of daggers, nothing too overdone.

Welllllllllll.... Shadow Stepping has a limited range to it too. What if your poor assassin has to climb through portholes, lift himself onto platforms, shimmy on narrow ledges etc etc before coming into the right range to shadowstep? Dear God.... I can imagine how much noise and weight all those extra blades and stuff are making/adding while moving around.

If you are referring to how people can afford FOW, well let's just say you will need to do a crazy amount of farming or you need to be lucky or have the foresight to keep things like HOD, and then sell them before Factions comes.

Truth is, the 15k armours beat the pants off most of the FOW variants. If you asking how you can afford 15k armours, it is really not too hard. For example, I managed to sell an Exalted Aegis to this warrior in LA for 100k. Paid for my 15k armour real quick; and then some... :D

Photobucket automatically resizes your pictures if the filesize is too large. When you resize them next time, bring down the quality a little bit

Do what I did to pick my armour combination. Use the image Deus Invictus posted where he has all 6 images in the exact same position and background (probably stood still and swapped armour). Load it into photochop or psp, and 2 seconds of cut and paste gives you a good idea of what it'll look like. ^^

Personnally I hated the 15k Kurzicks mask, they've really screwed that one up. It makes my sin looks like a clown :undecided:

On the other hand I think the 15k exotic mask looks very nice on 15k Kurzick set, it looks almost part of the same design when both are dyed the same colour.

that's full 15k Canthan undyed yet, I'm thinking black, but I still have to save up money for it (I blew all my gold on this and 15k canthan for my ranger :D )

idk wth is up with those gloves. It looks like the person working on the armor intended to make it a full body armor suit, then ran out of time, so she/he just grabbed the 1.5 gloves and slapped those awesome looking blades on them. Imo it looks better with 1.5k Seitung gloves (there's no 15k version).

also: I tried silver+dye remover, and it doesn't work on this armor, it just makes the blue lighter.

that female assasin armor looks like poop :D MALE KURZICKK!!!!! FTW!! and btw male 15k kurzick requires 10 amber 50 iron 5 steel for helm, arms, and greaves. pants are 20 amber 10 steel like 100 iron. cuirass costs 30 amber like 150 iron 20 steel(?) and of course 15k to craft all of these

It's not so much people stealing your idea as it being that the 1.5k seitung gloves are the only golves that look good with the rest of the armor set. Like I said before, the designer who made the 15k gloves must've rushed it, because he just grabbed the 1.5k gloves and slapped a pair of huge blades on them, thus leaving that unsightly gap by the elbows (blech). I hope they upgrade it sometime, since the rest of the armor has this cool full-body armor suit thing goin on, the gloves just seem wrong.

yeah, it does (it's 150 cloth though). I was surprised too, I originally had 40 leather and 400 cloth for the whole set, so I had to make another trip for the mask. :/
