I'm sorry if this has been posted already, I glanced through the threads of the Lore Forum but couldn't find any evidence that this was old news although it probably is:

i highlighted some symbols which appear to be arrows pointing from a specific part of the border area between the desert and ascalon, am I just being stupid or is this further evidence that this is the path the Ascalonians took to reach the desert?

What did you highlight? I don't see anything. Can you make it clearer, or the image bigger?

oh sorry, cant make it bigger without distorting things, one the right side of the map i darkened two black arrows, u can tell by the fact that its different from the light brown of the other markings in the area its right where the mountains between ascalon and the crystal desert are

Can you provide an unaltered version of the image so I can compare?

As it stands now, I don't see much there...

Ah, yes! I see it now. It does appear that those arrows are indicating some sort of hole or passage.

Good find! Also, the river to the west, it isn't there on the current map. Perhaps it is another possible route?

Like rain on a summers day...

This is taken from the Guild Wars manual. Unfortunately it appears the arrows are just a depiction of one of the deserts more annoying residents

Also the river does appear in the Shiverpeaks, though it is frozen over. I've marked it out below for clarity.

EDIT: I missed a bit of the river, but you get the idea

*chuckle* Good eye, Seyfert, even although if it didn't turn out what we thought it was.

Yeah, that is why I asked for a bigger version. I thought it was rather unlikely...

Still, if all we had was that smaller map, it is easy to make the mistake. Good find nevertheless. We can always use another pair of sharp eyes and a creative mind.

Hold on thou...this may be the basic reason for this thread, but if u missed this, something interesting has been found in the dragons lair. When I was fighting through the six facets, I found corpses of ascalon warriors in the darkness (necro) facet's area...HOW the hell did they get there? I have a theory that this is from the searing, where they have escaped the charr through ashford abbey, making their way through the catacombs. They couldn't return because the path was blocked. I think they battled REALLY deep into the catacombs and reached the darkness's portal to the other realm, where the darkness facet ruled, but failed to advance. Perhaps maybe they did get past that place, but with a few casualties. Maybe my whole theory is wrong...who knows!!

Those are thought to be Ascalons from Devona's group, that fell when they were going to Gint.
