I realy love turles and the jade sea but I also love the challenge (yes, kurzick IS more difficult) of the echovald forrest. So my question: is there any way to be seen as allyof both factions? I don't think there is but maybe...

An Ally of both? Well, you cannot be an ally in regards to an alliance. However,
you are able to befriend both sides. In fact, befriending both sides is the only
way one is able to achieve Protector of Cantha.

Not at the same time. You can do all of the quests, but it's better to do one side, then the other. And be sure and trade in your faction for amber/jadeite before switching, since you lose faction from both tracks when turning it in.

Wow. Really? I've taken 4 players through the game. My first was through Kurzick and the 2nd was through Luxon. My last 2 went through Kurzick (for the armor) and I'm now playing a 5th character that will most likely go through the Kuzick side. Maybe its because I'm much more familiar with the Kuzick side but I found it much easier than playing on the Luxon side.

Both sides are different. Some players will have a harder time completing Luxon/Kurzick when some have an easy time, but i agree that those Dredge's are a pain in the -

Indeed, both sides are different. IHMO, the Luxon sea areas are a heck of a lot more boring than the Kurzick forrest areas. The Jade Sea is, again IMHO, rather poor designed and it's also fairly dull. The Kurzicks have nicer and better designed maps, making it more fun to play (which makes me suspect that the Anet developers favor the Kurzicks themselves).

Well, Gaile has stated on a few occasions that she favors the Kurzicks - if only because she finds the Wallow henchies cute.

we all know from that statement gaile is on madd krak.

anyway, like IMO for running around to outposts, luxon is easier... i made it to all the towns pre-gyala hatchery in about... 20 minutes on my Mo/Me

Its sorta easier to do the kuzik side however, as well... naga hit hard... party wipe AGAIN!

I don't know about you, but I find Dredges to be incredibly annoying. I really hate their Gardeners.

Dredge Gardeners are easy to kill, since they are rits. Dredge Gatherers (rangers) are the thorn in my side.

Bah I don't like the idea of being able to befriend both sides, it's a two hundred year war... you've saved all of Cantha and possibly Tyria, isn't that enough for you?

Personally, anyway, I much prefer the Kurzick locations, although they are a little more challenging. Something about building structures on the backs of comically large crustaceans and turtles doesn't appeal to me, and kinda makes me want to call PETA. Also... colourful body paint and beads and frilly outfits make the Luxons look like they're trapped in some kind of 1980s nightmare, only thing missing being the shoulderpads.

Also I find the Kurzick locations to be less... I dunno, runnable? The monters are bigger and grouped closer together, where in the Luxon areas you can run around for ages without being attacked as long as you watch your aggro. It just seems to me that more time and effort were put into the gothic Kurzick side.

That's funny, because I think the Kurzicks look far more rediculous, wearing that Crow-like face paint and everyone wearing women's clothes.

Befriend both sides? Well...let me tell you it doesn't work. You see, I had 10k faction with both sides at once. And they ALL hated me. Well, the kurzicks favored me in town, and despised me out of town (I believe it is because my guild is kurzick). Anyway, it does get annoying when both sides refuse their services to me. So I traded it all for amber...and at 0 faction on each side, they all hate me still! >.>

Whichever you have more faction for, even if it's only 1 point more, will be the side the currently "likes" you. So you can switch back and forth rather easily if you get 1k faction for one side, do what you want to do, then trade it in for an amber/jade, then get 1k for the other, do things there, et cetera.

Equal faction will mean neither side "likes" you.

No the Gardeners are Monks.

Btw, I also heard some people insulting other people just because they sided with the opposite faction. While it's a good thing to be competitive, but that sort of behaviour is just over the line imo.

Agreed, I never got into the whole Kurzick/Luxon battle. My guild and alliance are Kurzick but I don't care, my characters are Canthan. To me if the faction split in the game happened sooner becuse it occurs towards the end, creating the biggest speed bump (which really sucks). Also if each character could chose a side (faction determined on character on account) and if selecting a side meant more overall then it would matter to me.
