OK....so am I missing something? Where did Shiro get these magical powers that turned everything to jade and stone? From what I got from those useless flash backs a fortune teller told himt he emperor was going to kill him because he feared his skill with a blade, so he killedthe emperor instead...while that is an incredobly lame story it makes sense....but how does he turn everything to jade? Where did that little outburst come from? In the guide it says that he drained in the dark magics and that some dark magic may have tainted hi but it mentions nothing of this in the game, and seeing as he is escorting civilians when he meets the fortune teller, I would say that he isn't exactly tainted with evil. Can someone please explain this to me?

I think Shiro took the powers from the emperor after he killed him, If you watch the cool cinematic they have on the website it looks like he does that.

It's a game..

Everything's not logical. There's unlimited arrows, fire shoots out of a stick, somehow you can resurrect 'certain' people but not the others..

Those are all gameplay mechanics-__-, and I'm pretty sure the fire out of a stick would be a result of magic. But how does he steal the power 0_o, it never says he has some kind of super kool life stealing powers...it just says hes a really kool warrior....maybe I'm missing something but from where I am it makes little sense.

Maybe he got something from the fortune teller that was telling him the future? After meeting her Shiro seems to begin to lose his mind so maybe there is something there. There is an assassin skill that allows to to copy a stance that an opponent has taken. Maybe the Emporer was in one massive stance and shiro copied it?

On a side note adding the fortune thing to the story was a mistake on Anet's part. Before that it was Shiro was evil, evil man attempting to do an evil thing. After the fortune teller came in I got to say that if I was Shiro, I would have killed the Emporer to. He did what he did to survive, in my opinion.

I agree comepltly. After I found out that little peice of info I felt like the Emperor was the bad guy and Shiro was an inocent victim.

Well, perhaps the Shiro we fight is more powerful than the Shiro before his death (his first death). He was an emissary after all and may have retained some of his powers, hence why he was trying to become mortal.

Yeah, I just realized in coming up with my genius answer that I totally outsmarted myself.

this game has some of the most juvenile storylines in a fantasy game. ever. although factions is slightly better than prophecies

just enjoy the A+ scenery, art, and finely crafted play balance. but dont bother asking questions about the C- plot, b/c there are no intelligent answers there.

He absorbed the emperors energy which gave shiro more power then upon defeat that power seemed to explode in a catacylsmic explosion which resulted in the jade wind. At least thats what I think

Well he uses his little Jade Wind thing before he dies. And the second part of that statement makes no sense...he was less powerful as a mortal so he wants ot become a mortal? You lost me.
