Well I finally got to the end in factions.
So..lately I have been concentrating on swords and I got the amulet traded for Shilos sword without realizing that it has a 15 sword req. Personally I will never have 15 sword (pve only player) so it has no real use for me.
Do you think that ppl still will buy? or Did I really mess up?:undecided:

Why wouldn't you have 15 in swordsmanship as a PvE player?

Why would a tank have 15 swordsmanship?

I just think of it as a trophy for killing Shiro, I don't use many of the Grrens I have found either, I mostly use modified crafter Katanas, then I can have ecactly what I need.

Generally I've seen tanks have at least one major or sup rune so that they can have a lower life level than everyone else, therefore they get targeted first. Maybe this was just me, but if it isn't why not put it in swords?

I always find as a tank (ie my aim is to soak up damage) i prefer my runes to be in strength and tactics, normally only just reaching the req of my weapon.

Strength gives me dolyaks etc and tactics gives me stances and the self heal, so as a tank i prefer having them higher than weapon.

The only time my weapon skill ever reaches 15/16 is when i am farming.

Why not put it in more defense when you're a tank? That's why people all over GWGuru was whining about the warrior 'nerf' - They thought a tank could have 15 swords/hammer/axemanship

Does a warrior HAVE to be a tank?

Seriosly, I couldn't think of anything worse than pure tanking and 0 dmg dealing.

Dolyak Sig and Watch Yourself! is a good start, and it has room to put in 15 in swordsmanship...

No a warrior does not have to be a tank. In fact if you set your warrior up as pure damage dealer you got yourself one of the highest damage potential classes in the game.

I dont see the need for wasted attr points when I can deal lots of damage at 12 or even 13 with a multitude of other weapons.

I have a pure axe tank in prophecies and never had problems with attr set at 12. So far in the game in Cantha (where the monsters are a weaker bunch in my opinion) have not had to have it set more than 9 and I have killed more stuff with less deaths than any other one of my prophecies characters.

So...I guess I would have to ask u what is really the point of setting it at 15? Maybe I missed something so far.

The two big reasons for having a weapon attribute at 15 (or even 16 sometimes) is that 1) It increases the rate of critical hits 2) It increases the effectiveness of skills that use that weapon attribute. So all your sword skills will hit for more & you will more often critical hit which increases the damage even more.

If you are not concerned about dealing damage then it shouldn't matter that you don't meet the requirements of your sword.

Just once everyone should stick 16 in the weapon and go out and blow stuff up! Give 'em a surprise at the Fort!

Was anyone else kinda lost on that last comment? Oak could you kinda clarify what you're talking about?

It's the same as monk. They HAVE to be a healer, unless they say they will smite. If Monks go smiter without telling they are stupid and have screwed the team.

Unless it's a group that blindly invited a smiter monk just because they saw 'Mo' at the front, never bothering to ask what build the monk was using.

If you invite people and dont ask about their build ect, then its the group/group leader who is stupid and screwed the group...NOT the "smiter"]

I always ask EVERYONE who i invite what build they run, and never expect a monk to be a healer, or an ele to be an echo nuker, or a warrior to be a pure tank.

Diversity ftw!
