Eh sorry, i missed it, but what makes Chant unique? How does it differ from shout? I didnt see it anywhere... i understand how Echo works, but Chant?
So far, i see one difference :
Chants have a casttime
Shouts haven't

Are they spells? Do they trigger backfire or not really?

I thourhgt chats were spesific to a character. For example you use a chant on a character on your party and they gain the benifit. Shouts affect everyone around you, i also think chants are offensive aswell as defensive.
Nope, chants are shouts with a cast time so that you have a chance to interupt the Paragorn
Chants = Shouts + cast time

shouts can be done while your activating another skill, chants cant
chants makes something happen if a party member does something specific, shouts have and instant effect

Shouts such as "I will survive", IWAY etc affect only you. "Coward!" only affects a single opponent. "None Shall Pass!" affects multiple opponents. So no, this is not the difference between shouts and chants .

I would guess so, havent rly tried. But if u sort the skills by type u will see that paragon doesnt have a single skill under the spell catagory.
Edit: Yeah chants definatly works with expertise.
