Will Angelic Bond replace Life Bond in PvE and PvP situations?

For 10...30 seconds, all damage suffered by target other ally is divided equally with you. 10e 1s 5r

It's better than Life Bond because an entire build is not necessary to maintain the Angelic Bond, it doesn't cripple your own defense, and more notably, it's a skill (i.e. it's not subject to the numerous Enchant removers)

However, it's worse than Life Bond in the sense that it doesn't reduce the shared Damage, and it's difficult to keep up constantly on 4+ people.

What do you think?

10 energy and semi spammable, not linked to primary attribute, good for P secondaries :)

yea, but life bond reduces the half damage that you take by 36, which is huge, whereas this just gives u the half.... so.... theres reason enough to keep using life bond.

I already see angelic bond rangers coming spamming this skill at less than 5 energy due to expertise and then having a monk life bond the one ranger. Not sure about the math as far as how effective this is at reducing damage but it would definately take a chunk out of spike teams.

Side query: If you AB someone while under union or shelter what happens as far as reduction?

What happens when 2 monks life bond each other? Does the damage bounce back and forth?

monk a takes damage and monk b has half of that redirected to him.

life bond triggers when an ally takes damage but monk b did not take damage

Life Bond triggers on attack damage. Damage transfered through Life Bond isn't attack damage thus doesn't triggers a second Life Bond.

On a second note, Angelic Bond triggers on all damage, Life Bond only triggers on Physical.

never tried this skill yet, if this is true then it have a place in a support paragon arsenal. I'm not surprised that rangers are taking advantage of this also, it will be a good skill for them to use.

Life Bond triggers on attacks, physical or not.

Life Bond triggers on attacks, physical or not.Okay, attacks. So basically, Warriors, Rangers, and Assassins.

Still doesn't defend against Mesmers, Elementalists, and Necromancers.

Bond triggers on anything that hits the player. Ie. firestorm, barrage, normal hits, etc.

The only thing that penetrates Bond is Life stealing (I think?) and DoTs. Which is why Necro Spike teams have little difficulty against bonders while Ranger spike teams need to take the bonder down first.

Not too sure about Spiteful Spirit and the like, but I know bond defends against elemental damage too (which includes holy/dark, yadda yadda)

I prefer James Bond over Life Bond and Angelic Bond.

You're probably thinking of Essence Bond:
"While you maintain this "Enchantment", whenever target ally takes physical or elemental damage, you gain 1 Energy."

Unlike Life Bond:
"While you maintain this Enchantment, whenever target other ally takes damage from an attack, half the damage is redirected to you. The damage you receive this way is reduced by 3...25 points."

Could Angelic bond be used with Ballad of restoration? That would make it better than the monk one, unless it doesnt actually trigger on angelic bond properly.

if ballad of restoration is an echo then short answer = no.

angelic bond is not a shout or chant.
