View Full Version : Luxons pushed back to Kaanai Canyon
Well, for the first time ever today the ongoing war between Cantha's vassal states has for the first time reached the final map. The only contested outpost now held by the Luxons is Breaker Hollow, and having played in the Kaanai Canoyon myself and seeing how hard it is, I doubt the Kurzicks will be taking the final outpost anytime soon. I reckon the battles will sort of stay within the Jade Seas for a while, and then who knows?

No screen shot, but the OP ignores the recent change of momentum... the map changed to Kaanai when kurzicks took eredon terrace, and since they pushed beyond that and took Bai Passu, their taking of breaker should have been clear.
Breaker was as far as they got, and even now they are back to the harvest temple, and the luxons stand a decent chance of taking every contested kurzick town.

You dont ned a screenshot. The map was a hole in the jade with shrines on it. 1 fort in the middle with 2 pre capped nodes for luxons surrounded by gates, and outside and assortment of nodes to cap including 2 rs points for kurzick.
The maps quite buggy so alot of people didnt get as much play as they wanted (slow fps etc) but it was okay.... sucks vs the other maps.

I don't think the OP totally ignored it, his post was about like 20 hours before yours. But yeah it didn't seem to last long eh?

This still might go down in guild wars history as the triumph and defeat of the kurzick any1 else agree?

yeah i saw that map change last night- couldnt believe it
for those that missed it- there were towns far on the luxon side that were in kurzick territory.
a LOT of luxons must have seen the map around the time I did, because it was a frantic group LFM fest... even assassins were getting play ...
Looking forward to seeing the map when i get home tonite- I actually wouldnt mind having a chance to play that map a few more times before the Kurzick lose their momentum (they probably already did)
Regardless... the reason is because Kurzicks are obsessed with Faction Farming, while the Luxons are busy farming items to sell to the noob kurz. It seems more Luxon guilds are without alliances... fitting with the lore, really... we are free and do as we please in our travels.
Doesnt matter. The Jade is Ours. Hope U Kurzicks enjoyed your stay.
On a side note, I heard somewhere that the majority of the people with high end video cards go Luxon, while people running 5500fx and stuff go kurz... is this true???? I guess I can see why- the reflections look amazing... and the trees look boring...

Not a screenshot of the actual arena: what good would that do??
We wanted a screenshot of the Canthan Map showing the territory line.

Last night my Kurzik guildmates and I were able to play this map four times before being pushed back to Etnaran Keys. We lost the first match, and slaughtered them the second, while the third and fourth were rather close.
Controlling the two points inside the keep was key to our win on that second match.
On the third match we discovered that the NorthEastern Kurzik spawn point has a bug in which there is no fence keeping players behind the closed door. This means you can walk out and cap the Northern Supply Point, pick up the keg and start killing the NPCs guarding the nearest door before the match starts. The doors will not blow open with the keg before the timer starts however.

The Luxons, took the Armory from the Kurzicks about 30 minutes ago. Looks like the Kurzicks started celabrating to early last night and are now paying for that mistake.

The kurzick one is mirror to the luxon one (as they all are), so it plays like crap but doesnt look like crap. Such a pitty...

it is funny how people are actually defending their sides. Nobody cares for that stupid line? Guess that statement is proofed to be wrong. Some luxons ego's have been severally damaged, and some kurzick ego's have been boosted. People really seem to relate with their side.
Personally I think its fun that this mechanism finally worked and inspired people to play the AB. Its great and simple PvP, for both PvPers and PvE players.

I took a screenshot of this portion of the map:

Sorry, it's in french^^ but you can still imagine what it looked like.
^^Wow that's cool.
But looks a little dumb...one hole of kurz terriotary in the middle of the hills. They should connect the terriotaries together man.
From what I heard, several high factions guilds / alliances moved to kurzick, giving luxons a significant drop in faction. I do wonder what made them switch, but, that is appearently the only reason that the lines got pushed so far into the jade sea.
Also, last i checked, last night, the line had been pushed severely back into the kurzick lands.
(My guild is so small that we cant even hope to dent faction ranks, so we are just like... wow... the line moved...)
The giant momentum from the massive Luxon wins in luxon turf map (Kanaai) is prolly the main reason why they have pushed the kurziks back. I think that we'll be seeing alot of border swinging the next few days.

Luxon's vengeance ^^
the luxons tricked the kurzicks into a false sense of security!
Also notice how this thread has so few replies, whereas the thread "0mgZoR t3h 3c0n0my h4s b33n n3rfd" has like 3000. An interesting statement about what people's main gold, sorry goal, is in this game.
