What dervish form do you think is the best? I personally like Dwayna form the best, at least for pvp. The health gain and hex removal is great.

For looks I'll go for Dwayna while for functionality I'll go for Melandru. A nice tanking machine immune to Conditions

Avatar of Grenth would be devastating to monks(and other dervishes), but I personally favor the Avatar of Lyssa. Just imagine its damage potential against skill spamming builds(which are plentiful for every profession) while using a fast swinging weapon.

I personally loved the bathazaar form, it's also the cheapest form! Armor speed and it's all good, not to mention you look like a terror fear monsters thing. It should help, although i do plan to capture all the forms, eventually.

While they are all good in certain situations and builds, I think balthazars is the only one that would always be useful. When would you ever not want to run faster and have more armor? The other ones are only good for gimmicks except Melandru. I think melandru could be better for pve or running.

i like most of them, with a bonus for balth form and grenth form.but i'm wandering how many will remain the same at the official release

Grenth is easily the most powerful.

and . . .

Lyssa is the most broken =/

I like all the forms, I like the idea of forms, I love the Dervish.

I'm very PvE so Id say you could farm well with melandrus and balths, but im going to cap and use them all.

Other point being Balths was made purely to kill minion masters I swear

I found Dwayna to be the most powerful (on a defensive/support char) by far, followed by Balthazar(on an offensive char). The others are not bad but I can't see myself choosing one of them over Dwayna or Balthazar except for some specific gimmick build.

i voted balthazar based on the looks by itself.

But i think grenth's plus capturing a black moa would look the best together.

I voted Bathazar, but my next pick would be grenth. Who wouldn't want nearly a full minute of Anti-BoonProt?

I vote dwayna, looks cool, handy little bonus if you do dwayna + plague touch, heals/removes hex/removes conditon. The usual anti mellee mesmer or cripshot/anguish does nothing mwahahaha.

Just thought I would mention this, if my memory serves me right, didn't Gaile mention once that the dervish might warship another god all together? If this is correct and since it seems not all the elites have been presented yet... maybe there will be more elite forms.

I don't seem to recall that ^

I would have to say "Balthazar" would be my favorite, followed by Grenth.

I think it is due to the almighty shining gleam of his armor and the speed at which, I observed him swinging his mighty scythe (it hurts by the way) just massive overaul cut down power.

I can't help but feel someone is going to make a build making lyssa overpowered and require a nerf, I mean, it doesn't interupt the skill, is just damages the person over and over while they are doing it. It's going to make res'rs and rit lords be in alot of pain.

:) my guess is no more touchers :) they would be owned by lyssa unless the derv was blinded or toucher was using stance ect but u could go derv/war and take wild blow :)

Lyssa is probably my favorite for the extra energy+damage against skill users. but for the normal advantage such as hex removal and the health (and good looks) ill switch with dwayna.

Most deffinantly Lyssa. There is nothing better then landing a 202 critical hit to one of your adject foes that you didnt even target at the first place :D

I am so going for Grenths form, being able to remove everyone's enchants and doing damage will be fun and not to mention he looks way cool !

I'll probably get all forms and use them all at some point, but balthazar looks best overall.

I don't really like many of them.

Avatar of Grenth, for example, is the weakest in my opinion: it only works if you use attack skills (so, regardless of how long it lasts, you'll be limited by the cooldown of the attack skills you have), and there are many ways to counter such attacks (such as, Aegis, Guardian and other enchantments). The cold damage doesn't really add much either.

Avatar of Melandru is very powerful, thanks to the extra health and the immunity to conditions, but in other hand it costs all your energy - that's a price too high to pay, in my opinion.

Avatar of Balthazar strikes me as something very useful for the arenas, but not that useful in PvE, where the speed doesn't matter as much - its great benefit would be the armor, but there are other ways for a Dervish to improve his defense that do not require an Elite skill.

Avatar of Lyssa is very powerful, but the scythe attack speed isn't very high - it's unlikely that you would be able to interrupt enemies often if using a scythe. Although my biggest complain here is how the Avatar herself looks - the Twin Goddess of Beauty looks too fat for me

Avatar of Dwayna is nice.

My favourite one is Avatar of Lyssa, and the one I like the least is Avatar of Grenth. I think it could use a buff, such as adding health stealing (weaker than the vampiric mod) to the attack skills used while in the form.

I second that. My favorite is Lyssa as well. This Avatar, when using in correct team builds, can do some insane damage, at least theoretically.

I think Melandru is also very underestimated. First of all, it can be expected that Nightfall metagame is extremely condition heavy. Paragons do tons of burning etc etc, Dervishes spam aoe conditions like crazy, and Rangers get new nature rituals to play with. Hypohondria is just nuts from what i read, but personally did not use it yet.

So, let's say you go on a split and want to gank NPCs in enemy base. Their blindbot (eles now have elite blind skill too, not sure if it will be widely used) would usually keep you disabled, but Melandru solves that. No conditions means no cripple, so while you're in this Form you can simply laugh at cripshot rangers. Also, you have not only +200hp, but also immunity against deep wound, which pretty much means you wont get adrenaline spiked. Of course, there's 1min downtime, but i think with careful planning that wont be a huge problem.

So, while Melandru isnt my #1 choice (Sandy Grip and Lyssa are first choices), Melandru is simply a backup elite choice in case the metagame needs to be countered.

25e sounds a lot, but it's spent on 1 skill in 2 min. Dervish has low max energy but +4 regen. If you look at other casters, they all will spend much more energy on their elite skill in 2min, than Dervish will on Melandru. That's how i look at it, at least. So, the cost is 25e minus 5e for each Draw Conditions (and similiar skill) and heal that would have to be caster on Dervish during that minute.

Avatar of Balthazar strikes me as something very useful for the arenas, but not that useful in PvE

Actually, people will expect Dervish to tank, so the extra armor is very good. Of course, Dervish has other armor boosting skills.

On the other hand, it's pretty much a run skill, and as such gonna be seen often in PvE. The advantage is that it cannot be removed/shattered, and 1 min downtime often isnt important when running, as you can wait in some corner for the skill to recharge, and then outrun the remaining mobs. Since you're not wasting a slot for run stance, a runner can use it for something else (evade/block for instance, more armor with Conviction etc).
