[Elonian Lore] What kind of pets do you think elona will have?

I'd say a dune lizard, probably some manner of crocodile, a variety of big cat (lion, cheetah, leapord), and probably a flamingo!

Almost certain there will be some kind of crocodile creature. Some of the screenshots we have seen have some 'Egypte by the Nile' look. How can that not have a croc. Or a hippo...but that would be too large for a ranger pet. Maybe we'll see hippo's like the waterbuffelo in factions.

Also. Looking at the Paragon. They remind me alot from african tribal hunters. Like the Masai. They have an entire myth/culture based around the lion. Chances are Anet took its inspiration there, so the lion theme could return in the form of a pet.

There also has to be a bird pet seeing how Anet seems to love them. Maybe a marabou, but an ostrich would be more likely.

A canine is gonna pop up too most likely...Hyena?

If you watch the Nightfall In-Game Cinematic on guildwars.com, there is a short shot of someone(first-person view) fighting a crocodile. I'm hoping that it's tameable. =)

EDIT: Actually... I can't tell alligators and crocodiles apart... Hmm...

But Crocodiles are the ones near the Nile anyway, right?

Need some made up creatures for pets. Our characters live in a world of Flaming Titans, Forgotten Ones, Wardens, and Onis and the best they can come up with for pets is archetypical zoo animals.

What about a miniature sand dragon? Or a griffon? Scorpion wouldn't be too bad but then it would just seem like a devourer. How about a sand panther with like 6 legs? I think they should go more towards odd creatures like the moa bird and the peacock (phoenix), instead of lions, tigers, and bears (Oh my!).

Have to say, I really hope there's an abundance of Snakes, if only so I can say at some point, "Enough is enough! I have had it with these mother<expletive> snakes on these mother<expletive> planes!"

Other than that... I'd also like to see a Lion of some kind, providing it actually grew and possibly grew a mane as it levelled. There'll possibly be another type of Moa Bird, hopefully, and one other I'd really like to see is a duck. That would be a weird pet to see.

And of course, crocodiles, camels, and everything in between. Let's see some real variety.

I do wonder what the "rare" pet will be, this time. Perhaps, and this is something we haven't thought about, we won't necessarily see geographically-accurate pets, but some of the beasts from Dhuum's dominion.

The easiest way to tell between an alligator or a crocodile is to look at its snout. A crocodile will have a few exposed teeth overlapping its jaw when it is closed. In contrast, an alligator does not have any overlapping teeth when its jaw is closed. An alligator's snout also tends to be shorter and thicker than that of a crocodile's, but you would be hard pressed to tell the difference without comparing between them. There are other differences between the two species, but only an expert would be able to tell you what they were.

Crocodiles live in various parts of the world, but the most common locations for them are Africa (where the Nile crocodile is found), India, Australia (we're home to the Estuarine crocodile, the world's biggest species of crocodile) and some parts of South East Asia.

No...it's not the species of lynx you wanted. It looks pretty close to a Spanish lynx and a North American bobcat, both are lynx. The GW lynx may be a complete seperate species not even existing on Earth.

I'm guessing a snake for sure. Probably a jackal/hyena for the canine. They'll shove a cheetah/lion/leopard in and not change the model. I'm guessing not a crocodile, be a bit hard t oanimate. Maybe some type of ape?
