Ferocious Strike + Multiple Chants, Refrains and Anthems.

Anthem of Flames
Burning Refrain
Blazing Finale
--Glowing Sig to recharge Energy.
--Anthem of Envy as a way to use the Adren. gain from FS.

Throw in a few pet attacks for some DPS. Ie. Brutal Strike/Melandru's Strike. Or maybe both, that way you can take casters down very quickly, and Dervishes will be completely owned by MS.

It is possible to go R/P with this as well.

Also, FS could allow for intense spear-spamming, whether it be adrenaline-based or energy-based.

Discuss.

yeah i think you would be better off going r/p simply for the energy, glowing signet isn't really that good, not sure how the dervishes get owned though personally, they seem to take a hit and get right back up, even after something like melandru's strike

Spam that every 5 seconds + your other skills, it's bound to take 'em down.

Hopefully there is a necromancer on your team smart enough to bring Desecrate.

I could easily see it working. . .

Ferocious is the complete package since it's damage, E-management, and adds adrenaline.

Might be better on a Ranger Primary, but we'll have to see what builds become available once all the new / final skills get revealed.

When a good team will see FS they will just spike your pet. Pets now got DP and every time you kill it you just ruin all adrenalin of pet master. Thats why I dont like Bunny Tumpers and stuff like that.

During the preview I played a P/R just for Ferocious Strike (this was the entire strength of the R/P prebuild). It worked fine, energy was a little harder than the R/P I am sure, but Ferocious is a fine compliment for energy/adrenaline gain.

I don't remember, did the P/R have Ferocious Strike in it? I remember it just having Spear of Lightning and Vicious Strike.. And maybe Stunning Strike as the elite? I'm kinda hazy on it, seeing as I didn'y play as the pack hunter, instead I just played as a Healer Paragon and my team just steamrolled almost all I met.

The Pack Hunter premade used Ferocious STrike {e}

It was a Ranger / Paragon though.

It was the only way you could fuel spamming the lightning Javs every 2 seconds.

First, Ferocious Strike isn't a good source of adrenaline since it only gives 1 adrenaline per hit.

Second, Ferocious Strike is pathetic energy management without Expertise (1.125 ER @ 10 BM for 3 skill slots including the elite), and Leadership is equal or much better Energy Management than Expertise for all but 13 Paragon skills:
COMMAND: "Brace Yourself!", "Make Haste!" & Angelic Bond {E}
MOTIVATION: "Help Me!", "It's just a flesh wound." {E}, Enduring Harmony, Finale of Restoration, Leader's Pride & Mending Refrain
SPEAR MASTERY: Disrupting Throw, Harrier's Toss, Spear of Lightning & Vicious Attack

And amongst those, only 4 skills (Angelic Bond {E}, "It's just a flesh wound." {E}, Harrier's Toss & Spear of Lightning) are actually hard for Paragon to manage for energy wise.

So I don't see goods R/P besides typical Rangers build with some utility from Paragons, or R/P that spam some of the 4 skills listed before.
As for P/R, for the purpose of shout/chant spamming, Beast Mastery would do significantly less damage than an equivalent investment of skill slots & attribute points than Spear Mastery, but it would generate slightly more adrenaline and energy than Spear Mastery.
So I don't see pets being useful for a Paragon unless it's to boost Spear DPS.

Beast Mastery: 12
Spear Mastery: 16

Charm Animal
Confort Animal
Ferocious Strike {E}
Tiger's Fury/Bestial Fury
Blazing Spear
Cruel Spear/Merciless Spear
Wild Throw
Rez Sig

Tiger's Fury can be up anytime it is needed thanks to the extra energy from Ferocious Strike, with Tiger's Fury the Spear DPS/Spike can be very high and the pet helps push the DPS even higher.

Looks like the bird of discussion kinda got shot down there. :laugh: Excellent points Phoebus, thanks.

Hrmm. I think I'm gonna reconsider making a P/R when Nightfall comes out..

Maybe a P/W? Hrmm..
